  1. Hi

I am considering taking my three teenagers on the Dawn next Christmas, and wondered what the situation with the swimming pools is. I note there is a kids pool (but presumably this is too small for teens), and a main pool. Is the main pool adult only, or are kids allowed in it?

    Many thanks

  2. Hi

We are sailing on the Norwegian Jade next month, and I was wondering what restaurants are open for lunch on sea days. I assume that the MDRs are, do any of the specialty restaurants open for lunch. We sailed on the Epic last year and had some lovely themed buffets at lunchtime in Moderno.

  3. We are thinking of renting a clam shell on GSC on our cruise in March. Does anyone know if this gives us a priority tender? There are 5 in our family (all in one cabin), but we will probably only book one shell, as the kids wouldn't use it, would we get the priority tender for all 5 of us?

Also, can this be booked in advance, or does it have to be booked onboard.

    Many thanks

  4. We took the train as well, very easy to do if you can handle your own luggage.

We hopped on a tram to Trastevere, bought tickets there, and caught the train , couldn't have been easier, and very cheap, I think we paid about 5 euros each. The train was quiet and comfortable, although we were well out of rush hour.

We walked from the station to the port entrance (about 10-15 mins walk with cases) and got the free shuttle bus from there, but it would have been easy enough to grab a taxi.

  5. We had a H9 on the Epic, and loved it. The spa was lovely, especially the sauna with glass walls looking out to sea. Some reviews stated that they had heard noise from the deck above, but we didn't hear any at all. Although it was a fairly quiet sailing, and there weren't any loungers out on the deck directly above us.

There were two loungers out on the balcony, and room for chairs and table as well.

  6. We stayed in a Haven Spa Suite (14149), and loved it, the shower was pretty large and easy to access, and it was very close to the spa, so we could wander back to our room in our robes! There was no noise at all from the spa, and it was a quiet location.

The only downside was it was a bit remote from the courtyard and Haven area, but that didn't bother us at all. We mostly used Posh anyway during the day, and it was easy to access that, one floor up, wander along to the buffet area and take the private lift straight up to Posh.

  7. We sailed on the Epic in October, and were told at the safety meeting that we were not to hang any clothes , towels, or swimsuits on balconies, as they are a fire risk. Smoking cigarettes on balconies was allowed, but not flicking them over the side, due to the risk of it being sucked back in to a lower balcony.

I assume this is a company wide policy.

  8. We have booked a cruise on the Epic and received the UBP free. I know that we can chose drinks up to a value of $10, does this mean any drink, or is it just a limited selection ?

Also, does the $10 limit include gratuities? So for example, would a glass of wine priced at $9 be included, or would gratuities take this over the limit?

Final question, as our cruise sails from Barcelona, do the additional taxes have to be applied, would these be charged separately to our account?

Really excited about our cruise!! Never had the UBP before , so just trying to get things straight in my head!!
