Many thanks folks, I will keep checking for excursions and doing my own research online. ;)

We are doing the 7 day Fjords cruise on the Caribbean Princess for the first time next July, visiting Stavanger, Skjolden fjord, Olden and Bergen.

I cannot find any excursions advertised yet, is it too early, or aren't there any.

Is it easy to just visit these places independently, we found the Cruiseline tours expensive in Alaska, so would like to do things independently, any recommendations or must see's?

We found a great mom and pop clothing/gift store in Juneau called Northern Lights Clothing Co. They are located on Franklin St just a few doors north of the Red Dog Saloon (local restaurant/pub right in the center of town across from the cruise ship docks). They have clothing and souvenirs a cut above all the corporate gift and trinket shops. I think they will have clothing like your wife is looking for.

Anyone know if there are native american type woven or beaded jackets/fleeces available anywhere in the 3 stopover towns when we dock, my DW loves brightly coloured ornamental decorated NA type clothing,

Being UK born and bred, drug up proper as we say in Norfolk, I appeciate all the positive comments that have been posted about our fair(ish) Isle, but I would like to say that just seeing London, Liverpool and Edinburgh is not seeing the UK in it's best light, to really get a feel for the place you need to see the other UK, ie, The Lake District, the Derbyshire Dales, Yorkshire moors and Dales, Cornwall, the New Forest etc,I can also recommend my neck of the woods, North Norfolk and all the pretty little towns and villages, where the beaches go on for miles with nobody on them, I could suggest other very picturesque area's (subject to the weather), but like us when we visit the USA, we are limited by finances and time by what we can get to see.

We have visited the US about 6 times and Western Canada about 5 times, (family in Vancouver), and consider you residents there very lucky, especially Wyoming and BC residents, our favourite state in the US, most places have something to recommend them, just need more time and money to visit them all.

We are a UK couple doing our first ever visit to Alaska on the same tour/cruise as you did, I must thank you very much for all the valuable information we have gleaned from your review, I would not be able to do all that, I hope we enjoy the experience as much as you seemed to. :)
