  1. Great blog thanks for sharing. I was on this cruise as well, had an amazing time. It was a shame you missed the Glow Party was definitely a highlight for me. It seemed like half the passengers were up on Spice it was heaving and a great atmosphere. I thought the same about the Azores too very dull and boring place and only real downer on what was otherwise a fantastic cruise.

I agree with you about the shambles on the final morning disembarking. Our estimated departure time of 11:20 actually ended up being 14:35 due to waiting ages for a wheelchair for mum. We were the last group to get off. Get to the baggage section and all the porters had left to go to help the passengers for the next cruise and there were no trolleys so had to struggle through with 4 cases and just about make the coach to catch our flight home. While the delay was mostly due to not enough customs staff at the terminal, NCL could have been more helpful in arranging assistance for the many disabled passengers getting off the ship.

  2. I am just home from the 9th to 16th March cruise on Spirit. Once we arrived in Cyprus we were advised of a change to the original itinerary with the plan being to still go to every port but just in a different order with an extra stop in Haifa instead of 2 days in Ashdod. The reason was due to fears about there being not enough time to prepare for the immigration process for Beirut as this was originally meant to be day 2 port of call.

In the end due to a storm in Mersin, we were not allowed out of the port until around 2am (meant to leave at 5pm). This meant we missed out on Beirut altogether and ended up with an overnight back in Cyprus. Not the ships fault at all just one of those things and it didn't spoil what was otherwise a great cruise.

  3. Greenock is also my home town, been really nice seeing all the ships coming and going the last few months. Gets me excited for my cruise in November!

To the last poster going to Edinburgh. It would depend how you were getting there? If going by train, I would allow 2.5 hours each way as you have to change station in Glasgow and Greenock West or Central train station is a taxi ride from the port. Much wiser to not have all that travelling and just stay in either Greenock or Glasgow. Maybe spend the morning in Glasgow and after lunch get the train down to Greenock for a wander.
