  1. Never really watched TV when been cruising before but going with small children this time, can any one tell me if there is a children's programme channel? Something showing cartoons etc?

Travelling on the Azura but not sure if that makes a difference

    Thank you

  2. Thanks John :)

My travel agent has said they have told P&O we need a cot so can only hope they are good to their word and we get one. Although tempted to contact P&O direct too..?

Knew we could use the children's area as long as we stayed with her but didnt know about the night creche. Not sure how she would be and if she would settle but we might try it.

Relieved to hear the cabin is big enough though:)

Only thing left to do is book car parking at southampton :)

  3. I am sailing from Southampton in april with my daughter and grandaughter. We have booked a balcony cabin twin bed config.

I am wondering about space for a travel cot in the cabin, as I have read conflicting views on this. Some have said there is travel cots some said there isnt. Some that it fits in the main cabin fine some that it goes in the wardrobe area.

Others have said there is no room at all and that one of the parents is expected to sleep on the pull down bunk and the child in the lower bed with a guard.

Has anyone sailed on the Azura with a toddler? Can you help? if there were any photos of the balcony cabin layouts with a cot in situ that would be great :)

Also do you know if youre allowed to take your own inflatable bath for the shower which can be taken up to pool deck and use for toddlers to splash around in? (provided the water is not emptied back into the pool of course)

    Thank you in advance !

  4. Can some one that's from the UK whos been to Iceland clear up something for me please?

I know credit cards are widely accepted but have then read people mentioning Debit cards.

Will my normal bank debit card i use every day in the UK be ok to pay for things in Iceland?

I do have an "emergency" credit card which i never use but if i can get away with using my normal debit card that would be soooo much better for me :)

Also does any one know if the local buses accept cards or do you have to have cash?

I hope to catch the local bus from the cruise terminal into town as dont fancy the 40 min walk :) But as im not planning on taking any local currency with me wondered if that was going to be a problem?

    We travel in 1 week

  5. We are in Iceland at the very end of June start of July and ive been searching online to try work out what the weather will be like. We are from the Highlands of Scotland so was thinking it might be similar to here. Some sites say from 12 - 16/18 degrees and then other i read said it can get up to the 20s ..

    So whats the truth ?:)

Also we are doing an afternoon golden circle tour starting at 12.30 and hoping to get the bus to drop us in Reykajavik afterwards instead of returning us back to the cruise ship which seems to dock some way out of town.

Does any one know the approx price to get a taxi back later in the evening once we have explored the city ?

Do all the tourist attractions shut at normal times like 6pm or can we get into the Cathedral in the evening? We also want to visit the Perlan and wondered if that may be open in the evening too?

We are still in Reykajavik the next morning but only til the back of lunch time and so if we can fit somethings in the night before it may save my worry of rushing and the panic if we we make it back to the ship in time:)

  6. Sorry I am new to Celebrity as only sailed Royal Caribbean before so have a couple of questions about the cafe areas on the Infinity.

On RC there is a large promenade with the cafes and bars on it. The main cafe being open all the time where you can get free tea / coffee/ cakes / pizza / sandwiches etc.

Was great when I had to get up at 3 am when my son was sick that i could go get a fresh cup of tea :) .. and yes being British I do bring my own supply of tea bags hehe x

I was hoping there is something similar on the infinity where we can get free drinks and snacks all day? Can you tell me what the cafes are called and where they are located on the ship please?

Oh and any reviews on what type of food available and if its nice :D

    Thank you

  7. We sail on the Infinity in June, Ive never sailed on celebrity before. We did the Navigator of the Seas last summer.

Before we sailed I looked at lots of videos and photos of the ship and felt like i knew the ship before we sailed :)

However I am finding it hard to find good quality pics and videos of the infinity. Is it less popular than the other celebrity ships?

So I was wondering if any one had any holiday snaps please? We are in an inside cabin so interested in seeing pics of those. Also does any one know if there is a curtain that you can draw between the sleeping area and the rest of the cabin like on the Navigator of the Seas ? I am traveling with my son so having the extra privacy with out having to shut yourself in the bathroom all the time would be nice.

Also any pics of the buffet areas and out door eating areas, MDR , pools, etc well in fact anything would be great :)

    Thank you x

  8. If you booked directly through the cruiseline? Call them back and

tell them you want to sit at a 6 or 8 top...they can then put that

    notation on your reservation.

If you booked through a TA? They should have asked you but if they

didn't? Call them back and have them make that notation on your

    booking.

    Thanks

Yes I booked direct and just expected it to be an option on the online site when you are adding all your details of passengers and passports etc etc and although it asked what time we wanted dinner there was no option for table numbers.

Thanks for your advise I will call them direct.

What is the biggest size table on the infinity?

  9. Hi there , we are booked to sail on the Infinity in June and I have opted for the early sitting for dinner.

This is my first time sailing with Celebrity. It is myself and teenage son traveling and on my past sailings when I booked I was asked what size dinner table we wanted. Either 4 or 6 or 8 etc.

There does not seem to be any where on the site where you completed these details to add this option and wondered if any one could tell me if Celebrity ask this closer to sailing date or do you have to call them to tell them your preference?

I would prefer a larger table of at least 6 people as although I love my son dearly lol its nice to have other adults to mix up the convo a bit :)

  10. Before I add my final thoughts on each of the two ships, does anyone have any other specific questions on either of the ships? I can't really think of anything else that I may have missed in comparing....

    Just let me know!

What about safety ? I know its a bit scare mongering but who did you feel made you feel the safest? Was there anything on either ship you thought "hmmm" about but put it aside cause of course the "worst will never happen"??

And what about the stability of the two ships? I know when we were on the Navigator together it rocked about a bit a couple of times but to be honest it was nothing compared to the wee ship I went over the north see from Scotland to Norway last year lol. How did they both fair against each other?

  11. Thanks for keeping our holiday feelings alive for as long as possible, so sad this review is over now and I have to accept real life again lol. So glad we met and hope our families keep in touch for a while to come :)

Money constraints and work problems have put on hold all dreams of a visit to Rome next spring and another cruise but I have such fond memories of the Navigator this year that I hope it will keep me going for a while x

Wonderful review and amazing pics Shels x Well done :)

  12. Excellent photos!:) Still here reading;) you have certainly put ALOT of time into this!

Yes indeed she has, having met you on the Navigator it makes this review all the more "real" for me :)

Ive become addicted to checking to see if youve updated and then sad when you havent, yet dreading when you get to the end and its over. I and hungry for the next installment yet dont want it to end !

Loving all the info about Rome, Going to use a lot of it when I visit next year. :)

  13. Great to see pics of that crazy church :) I think its about 8/9 years since we went to Barcelona and its amazing how far its come on since we were there. Was not windows in half the places your pics show there are now . Makes me wanna go back and visit again :)

Shame you didnt get chance to climb about up top thats just as "weird" as the inside lol... maybe next time x

My son discovered the day we went there he had a fear of heights ... Its a one way trip up in the lift and the ONLY way back down is to climb all over the roof and round and round tiny walk ways and over hangs and spiral staircases with hollow centers etc.. We held up quite a few queues of fellow tourists who had to wait for him to "crawl" along lol

The park looked SUPER busy when you were there!! I dont remember it being like that but maybe it was, or maybe its just got more popular :)

  14. Shelley still loving your review and your pictures are so clear :) Hadnt realised after our cruise you were going on the Epic and its actually the next ship i "dream" of trying out . Did you find it more enclosed than the Navigator? Reviews ive read say the indoor areas have lower ceilings and there are less open spaces and more corridors. How did you find it?

I dont think "water slides" are my thing but is there a pool area away from all that "fun"?

I do love the fact you have places you can eat out side on the Epic though, I missed that on the Navigator.

Im sensing from your posts so far you found the rooms better on the Navigator?

  15. Well look at that, there she is! You know, Megan and I did see her there at the parade, but I totally forgot about her in the picture! Do you want me to email it to you, or are you grabbing it from the review?

Glad you're still following along! :D

Yeah she was hard to miss in that dress :)

Thanks ive already "stolen" it off the review x

  16. After the show Megan and I went to the Circus Parade. It was definitely a silly type thing that you couldn’t help but smile while watching. It was a fun atmosphere. Somehow in the crowd we met up with Alex and walked back to the cabins together.

It was our last night and tomorrow we’d be the beginning of a whole different adventure…our land journey. We’re taking a train to Venice!

Amazing review :) Woot another pic of A for my album hehe bet you didnt know youd taken that :D

  17. So, we left off with everyone napping off the jet lag! We're still on our first day in Rome!

We knew going in that it would be ambitious, but you will come to see that this entire journey was going to be ambitious! When all was said and done, the only one who didn’t like the pace of the trip was DH – the rest of us actually seemed to thrive on the excitement of seeing just what was coming up next! DH is much more of a lay on the beach and relax type of a vacationer than on the guy kind of guy...and that's fine. But it is what it is! Of course, this was the real world and there would be the occasional melt down!

So, we didn’t want to sleep away our first night in Rome and what better way to be introduced to this amazing city, but a Food Tour! Now, I had the most difficult time finding an evening food tour! The majority of them focused on going to a market early in the day and proceeding from there. That just wasn’t going to fit our schedule due to our flight arrival time. After scouring the internet I was lucky to stumble upon Food Tours of Rome with Bruno. We had a 6 pm meeting point at a fountain in the Piazza Mattei. Ok….we’ve been in Rome less than 10 hours, we’re jet lagged and we now have to set out on our own to find a fountain somewhere? There are an awful lot of fountains in Rome!

Have no fear! The very helpful and friendly man at the front desk at the Albergo del Senato drew me a map, on my map, gave me great directions and we were ready to go! We planned to take the rest of the group to the Pantheon for a quick stop, but they weren’t letting tourists in due to Saturday evening mass. Imagine, mass in the Pantheon! So, we just took our time strolling to our meeting spot since we had more time than planned.

This worked out well since we walked right past Largo Argentina. We spent quite a bit of time here not only looking at the ruins, but of course, what else but checking out all of the cats! It would be a couple of weeks, and we weren’t exactly sure where, but we knew our final few days would be spent somewhere in this area. Boy, would be in for a pleasant surprise when we saw the apartment we’d be getting….but that comes much later in the story!

After our stop to see the cats, I mean ruins…which we later found out were the site where Julius Caesar was killed! We made is successfully to the fountain! We all started to feel quite a confidence in navigating those winding, zig zaged streets now!

We were a few minutes early and we waited for Bruno to arrive. A small crowd started to gather, which we assumed was also there for the food tour.

Can you spot the American Tourists in the Piazza? We sure stick out like a sore thumb don't we?

Bruno arrived right on time. He was a charming as the reviews indicated he would be. There were about 15 people in our group. Maybe there were more? Bruno told us we'd be going to SIX, yes SIX locations and to enjoy everything, but pace yourselves! Believe it when I tell you the food and wine flowed freely!

Shelley I am totally hooked lol , no more sleep or work until this review is done !!
