He's right though.  Even worse is if it's positive and CBP forces them back out to sea to await further testing.

This is going to be the new reality folks.  Those of us who choose to sail from this point forward know that we could be stuck in a situation like this.

Personally, I'm about one more ship being held indefinitely at sea from cancelling my April 11 cruise.

We didn’t go on the Panorama Cruise that is currently waiting disembarkation.

We will come up ahead mentally and financially by staying home.

I feel certain you are very much not alone.  People were cancelling cruises and forfeiting thousands of dollars BEFORE this policy was put into place.  You can bet many more will be doing the same thing now that you can get what you have paid as a FCC.

Plenty of time to cruise in the future while this virus stuff all gets sorted.  Nobody knows where this all goes from here.

On the Roll Calls people thought we were paranoid. My husband works with the elderly and I work with Elementary students. We were sad but now Carnival May give us a future cruise if we qualify😬

We have a cruise from Miami to ocho Rios and grand cayman March 23. We cannot get our money back for cancelling. We don’t want to cancel it’s our honeymoon. Not worried about getting sick but very worried about getting stuck on the boat the whole time or quarantined. Should we be worried? It’s our first cruise and we were so looking forward to it before all of this mess.

We were to go on the brand new Panorama this past Saturday. We paid fully and gave up our reservation due to the same reason you are. I am not worried about the Corona virus but the loss of income for three weeks?  We cut our losses.

Only you can make the decision but I didn’t want you to think you’re the only one. People all the board seems to have no worries. We did.

  4. Im excited to see your responses as we are very similar on what we like to do on the ship. I thought we were the only ones :)

We are looking at a cruise out of Galveston in September. It looks like Freedom and Magic have the same itinerary. We have been on Freedom, but not for many many years, so I know it has changed. I'm a bit wary about how big Magic is, but intrigued by the cove balconies.

But which would you choose, and why?

    And which would you recommend?

My husband and I are child-less 30 something who are relatively boring- we don't drink or do Lido deck activities. We like good food, great shows, comedy club, and trivia. I travel for ports, so there things are equal. I love feeling connected with the water.

    3. I had an issue with the spa. I had wanted to do one of their $150 specials. So I went down and she took me room number and was going to get me right in but then said, "Oh, you want the special. The times available are early morning, evening, and port days." I shook my head no, told her I had a 9 year old and could not do it when the kid's club wasn't open and we had excursions and dinner plans. I told her never mind and then left. Two days later I had a call at 7:30am telling me I needed to be there for my appointment. I explained that in no way had I ever made the appointment or even indicated that would be okay. I guess she was wanting to charge me because I had to argue with her over the fact that I had never made an appointment and certainly never would have for 7:30. In the end, she apologized and cancelled it. Between this and the UDP issue, it just felt like no one had a clue what was going on.

In every cruise line it seems like every spa is pushy in my opinion. I have actually stopped going to the spa for a massage. It never fails after I'm done I spend 20 minutes politely saying "no" to what they are selling. The kind of situation you mentioned above is another reason why. I work as an office manager for a dental office where at rare times we implement this but we never speak as harshly about charging you for missing. They are in the driver seat and can charge your room card no matter what. I'm glad you didn't have to pay :)

  6. I'm not really sure how many college age "kids" were on the ship, they found people to hang out with, i never really saw the kids with others, but they mentioned a few other passengers. I would guess in early June there would be LOTS of families with all kids of all ages.

I don't think the kids liked the enterainment that much but they seemed happy and content. When we went on a family cruise 7 years ago, I worried about if they would meet people or have fun. This cruise, I didn't waste any energy on it. We spent a little time as a family, (doing the ropes course, eating some breakfasts together, dinner and the shore excursions) and the rest of the time, they did their thing and we did ours.

You'll have a great time! Don't forget to take some family pictures. We only got one on the last night of dinner. I really wish we would have taken a family picture on the beach. (we were just chill'n and having fun.)

thank you for your wise words. yes, our kids are at the age too where we meet maybe once a day (at least) for dinner. it makes taking pictures hard to take :)

i hope they have as much fun as your kids! your trip sounded wonderful!

    thanks again,

  7. Im so glad you had a great time. We leave in 2 weeks :) We usually go during off season and our two boys now 21 and 23 are bored. One of son is shy and my other is the social butterfly. Were there a lot of your kids age group on board? Was your son able to find plenty of people to hang out with?

We are excited for them to have a wonderful time!

Thank you so much for your report. It our second time on NCL. The last ship we were on was the Sun.

  8. I have made reservations for Legally Blonde, Illusionarium, and Burn the Floor on the Getaway, but none of the comedy shows show up to make a reservation. Does this show up online for reservations in advance, should I call, or is this something I do on embarkation day?

We called NCL. They said conedy shows dont book til you are in the cruise itself. We love watching comedy so this is an option we were interested in. In Carnival you have to get there 30 mun early to assure yourself a place to sit.

I saw on soneones Dalies there are 3 comedy shows. One is for over 18. I winder if the other two are the same show? Thars what we're trying to figure out now :)

We are on the Getaway 6/6
