I just got my Ghana visa directly from the Embassy; very easy. It was in my hand 6 days after I sent it off. They did not ask or require any info re yellow fever vaccine; after all their requirement is that you have it 10 days before entering and I am not entering until April so why would I necessarily have my vaccination now. That being said I got my exemption letter from my doctor who also filled out the official yellow fever certificate. I am bringing my old yellow fever certificate as well which shows I had the vaccination in 1968(!) which will work in other African countries Lynda

This will be our first cruise both on Silversea and to West Africa and looking for any tips/advice and to connect with others going on this adventure. As soon as I figure out how to post on a board I will also do that. We plan on arriving in Ghana 5 days before the cruise and plan to visit Kumasi (not on Silversea's pre-cruise tour) with whom I hear is a wonderful guide. We are trying to make air reservations fromAccra-Kumasi-Accra but may end up going by land.

Does anyone know if there is a place to leave luggage at the Wathey Cruise Pier, Point Blanche in Philipsburg? Or in the alternative at the airport for more than the 3 hours before check in? Or, in Philipsburg?
Kindle Alert

I am just back from a transatlantic cruise and learned the hard way that Regent's internet does not support downloading books on a Kindle. This may not be a problem on a port laden cruise but I discovered this on the second day of seven sea days. I did have a couple of full books downloaded but had mostly downloaded samples which I had intended to check out and download the book if I liked what I read. I got some books from the library but not my favorite reading.
