Just found some artistic renderings of the interiors of Costa's new ship. It's the first time I'm seeing these in internet. This ship will be LNG powered, and starts cruising in 2019.
Link to the pics --> https://goo.gl/aiJ22n
It will be the first Costa ship since 1999 that doesn't have design by Joe Farcus...

Westerdam - when it arrives in Italy in April 2017 there is a unscheduled two week period. We [on other threads] have speculated that is their probable DRYDOCK time.
But nothing official yet that I've seen on her or any of the other ships.
Carole
Thank you for the reply. Odd that they don't have actual dates for dry docks, since there's so many plans for new things on the ships...

As I found quite a few groups to add to summer Alaska and winter Caribbean cruises, and some cruises now have multiple groups onboard, I thought I would sumbit version 2.0 of the HAL groups/charters list.
I know many people use this as a reference before booking, so adding these additional 17 items could be helpful in current decision making.

Only the Westerdam will be in dry dock during this year and the next? Does anyone know?

I recently emailed RC to find out about the dry dock schedule because we are on the 12/10 sailing. They responded that she will be in dry dock on 11/3. Sailing transatlantic on 11/23. Starts sailing out of Tampa to Caribbean 12/3. They did not provide any details of what work will be done. Happy sailing!!
By which email address you spoke with them? Would like to ask them a few things too, but not sure where exactly to send...
-
Yeah, she might use a drydock. I was onboard her last january. One day the A/C simply stopped working on the common areas, the ship became very hot that night... The ceiling started to "sweat" at some points. Everything was really weird, and there was definitely something wrong there that day. Good thing that, my cabin at least, wasn't affected. It was the only place cool on the ship.
Besides that, she wasn't in great shape, but nothing terrible or even noticiable for most of the passengers. I've seen way worst ships in that sense.

Cruise Industry News states at the end of the Oz deployment article that Legend will leave Australia and head to Europe in 2017.
She will be in Europe until october, as far as we know. Remains to be seen what will happen after that.
-
I have no idea. I can't imagine her going to Cuba also. Someone mentioned Panama Canal, but I don't know why that wouldn't have been already released. Your guess is as good as mine.
Another possibility. Would explain why the european cruises will end sooner than the usual...
-
The UK website still has Legend going to the Caribbean with itineraries being released in May 2016. Whether or not that is correct, I do not know.
Thanks. It's curious, where would she go in Caribbean? And why it wasn't released among the other ships? Weird... Could she going to Cuba too?
-
Not sure if anyone knows it yet but the itineraries for Australia and New Zealand has been released on Cruise Cal..
Voyager, Explorer and the Radiance and Ovation.
The repositioning cruise on the Ovation hasn't been released yet though.
So, any idea where Legend is going? She don't seem to be deployed in Caribbean too.
-
About balconies, I guess that this is where she could get it.
But, if this was really going to happen, shouldn't it be done by now? I mean, why would they suddenly cancel cruises to add balconies and not add them while she was in the drydock?
-
The mystery with the 're-deployments' started with the transfer of Splendour to TUI for lease to Thomson. Splendour was the first RCI ship to be revitalized by Navantia at Cadiz in 2011. That move has never made complete sense to me.
It would seem that the upcoming moves of Rhapsody and Legend may have some relationship to all of this, along with the changes to the modifications planned for Majesty.
The fact that TUI has 4 new builds coming on line, allows the Mein Schiff 1, the former Celebrity Galaxy and Mein Schiff 2, the former Celebrity Mercury to currently also be scheduled for transfer to Thomson.
Yeah, never got that too. But actually she was sold not transferred... What means that there's no way back. It would be way more logical to sell the Empress or one of the ex-Celebrity twins of CDF, even Sovereign or Monarch... But no, they sold the Splendour... She wasn't even the older ship on Vision class!
One could think that her size was the matter (she is actually smaller than the Sovereign class ships), but they are taking back the Empress!
The only way I can see this move as logical is in a scenario in where TUI did one irrefutable offer. And go after her would make sense for Thomson since Splendour is well known in Europe...
-
Even though they have scaled down the revamp program on majesty, I can't see them adding voom and splash away bay just for the sake of a year. The whole point of bringing empress back also was the $400 million wrote down on pullmantur they wouldn't risk adding a third ship so soon which increasing total capacity up by a third.
I'm sure time will tell, but I think pullmantur are being a little too optimistic in 2017.

Well, maybe, but Pullmantur once had a fleet of six ships. Of course, something went wrong on the last years, and the company was bleeding. But there's certainly potencial for a recover.
The big problem for Pullmantur always was the state of the economy on the countries they operated. Back in 2008, the european crisis hit hard the company, now it's the economies on Latin America that are a problem... But crisis aren't eternal, in a better scenario there's plenty of room for more capacity.
-
And following with pullmantur, here's another rumour...
Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
It's pure speculation, there's no real info behind this post... The fact is that Pullmantur will not only keep Monarch and Sovereign, but also receive Majesty in 2017 if everything goes well.
The companie's CEO Jorge Vilches spoke about that in France recently:
http://www.meretmarine.com/fr/content/pullmantur-devrait-recuperer-le-majesty-en-2017
About the refit, I've been on the Empress last year, and I was expecting something else. By the pictures I have seen, the ship looks pretty much the same. Far from what they promised at first (anyone remember the mention to new pools?)...
By the way, the cimbling wall has been with her since she was Empress of the Seas at first. Here is a picture of it last April:
