  1. We sailed Uniworld both before and after the change and still love it. Before we did castles on the Rhine, this may we sailed the po, then next May we are doing delightful Danube and Prague, perhaps on your sailing? We are on the May 6 sailing.

  2. We were on the Rhine mid October with Uniworld and had beautiful weather. Our castles day was a little cool but Uniworld provided indoor viewing and listening or outdoors there were blankets heated with hot water bottles. Very comfortable!!!

Also when comparing pricing, remember Uniworld is ALL INCLUSIVE. That means all tips on the ship, the buses, the guides, your transfers, all beverages from the moment you wake up til you go to bed at night no matter what you drink whether it is hard liquor or a soft drink!!! Even all excursions are included, one per day (there may be 2-3 optional).

  3. We have only cruised with Uniworld but highly recommend it. While it may appear to be a little more expensive, they offer far more. ALL GRATUITIES both land and ship are included. If you arrive and depart on cruise days transfers are also included. While most lines include wine beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, with Uniworld they offer wine beer soft drinks and hard liquor unlimited from 9 am til the last person leaves the lounge at night.

Uniworld also offers all those little touches you didn't even know you wanted. On our Rhine cruise there were not only blankets on the sun deck, but hot water bottles inside them to keep them warm. Or the filled metal water bottles every time you leave the ship.

We are now signed up for our third Uniworld cruise. Can't wait!

  4. We also spent the night in Basel. Boarded at noon for lunch. Others were already eating.

We were told you could board anytime and there would be refreshments but room would not be ready til 2:30 or so.

As we were disembarking at about 9 am, others were boarding!

  5. We have cruised with celebrity , regent, and uniworld. We loved regent and now love uniworld as well. I am a picky eater and had no problem and thought food was outstanding. Our friend was gluten free and his dining room shadow appeared immediately as he entered to help him with selections and bring his gluten free bread.

  6. We just got back from uniworld castles on the Rhine but have never sailed Viking, only walked thru a ship docked next door.

Uniworld was fantastic with all the little touches you did not expect like hot water bottles in blankets on the sun deck on a cool cruising day. Hot towels and hot chocolate or punch after a days excursion.

Uniworld decor is over the top while Viking is plain modern. Watch room sizes and chairs. We selected uniworld because of room size and one of the few cruise lines with 2 chairs in the room.
