  1. Oh, Amy - this made me laugh out loud. Guess what Mom did the first day they moved in? Yup. Moved all of the existing furniture around. Sigh. She'll never quit. But you're right - now she'll leave MY house alone!

Aw, thanks, Cheryl! I appreciate that...I keep looking into how to publish, and then I get sidetracked - look, a squirrel!!! Yeah - like that. ;)

    Sherri,

Self-publishing e-books is actually fairly simple. Of course you first have to create the e-book which can be challenging, but not really that difficult. I had to do the research on this for a project with my job. Unfortunately, we were specifically prevented from charging for our content so I couldn’t use any of the publishing options. That said, no sense letting the research go completely to waste. Nook and Kindle requires you to charge for you content, then they’ll pay you royalties of up to 70%. With Kindle, the minimum and maximum charge is generally based upon the size of the book and where sold (minimum from $0.99-$2.99, maximum either $9.99 or $200 depending on the royalty option). Nook allows you to charge as little as $0.99. Can’t remember the charges for the google book store but there is free content there. iBooks allows for free content or charged content. Unfortunately, my research ended there because I would have to create an iBooks publishing account to see pricing or charging information. That said, if you can get to Nook and Kindle you can get to almost everyone as other readers are actually tablets that use reader apps. The main reader apps for all is Kindle and Nook.

Creating the e-book requires some knowledge of software, and to do a good job HTML coding ability. There are many programs that will help with this. Also, if you are gameI wouldn’t mind converting this review to Nook and Kindle content, but it could only be as time permits L. (Probably take a couple of weeks to get it done right).

Here are the links to the Nook, Kindle and iBooks (iBooks uses the same format at Nook unless you do an interactive bood) publishing:

    Good luck,

  2. If you’re all worried and concerned that I didn’t get to eat (and isn’t that kind of you? To be worried about me?), well, don’t worry. I DID eat. I had also ordered some calamari – and here it was:

    Calamari.jpg

I had no doubt what this was when it was delivered...the little tentacles gave it away. However…as much as I love calamari…I can’t eat it when it looks…all tentacly...(is that a word??!!) I picked and flicked around it, managing to eat some of the pieces that weren’t so…tentacly…and declared it quite delicious. Hubby Mike ate the rest (since the Klingons wouldn’t touch this if their lives depended on it.)

Now…it was Cathy’s dish that got the most attention from our group….

But Sherri, the squid fries (tentacles) are the best part. I lived on Crete for 18 months in my long past youth and practically lived on fried cheese, calamari, and Greek wine. Greek calimari is still my favorite.

  3. Bwahahahaha....I seriously spit out my Diet Dr. Pepper reading that...you're right. Someone ELSE can navigate; I'll just be your tour guide with all of the fun tips, trivia and useless information that you need to know. ;)

Wow...an Arctic Circle cruise? That would be awesome! But...hopefully, if you choose the Med, I've given you some new & fresh ideas of things to see and do. ;)

I'm glad I made you laugh as you have me since I started reading this review.:)

I loved my trip to Athens a loooonnnng time ago. Things have changed alot since I was there. The first temple at the Acropolis was completely engulfed in scafolding so that you could barely see it, and the Parthenon as almost as bad. Also, they had just started excavating the ruins below the Acropolis.

  4. Jealous.

Hey - a better idea - why don't you just take me along as your personal guide?!

So long as someone else is doing the nagivating, right...:D

Seriously though, you have set me up with a serious dilemma. I was going to talk my wife into an Arctic Circle cruise for my daughter's graduation in a few year (next two years cruises are already decided), but now I'm thinking a Med cruise. Already been to all of the countries listed and between my wife and I most of the places, but those have been land vactions or work related. On the plus side, can't go wrong with either trip .
