Carnival offers numerous options for any given time or decision, so make the one that fits you best and get to it. Someone else will make their own decisions. If no rules are broken, don't worry about it. I think that is the gist of what you are saying.

I'm going to go back and try and edit the original post to only include the quote, but not associate it with anyone. That would have been a better way of handling it. As far as Carnivals established rules and expectations, I can honestly say that no, I have never violated any of them. I'm a strong believer of following rules, or working to change them, not outwardly violate them.

Well thats good. I didn't mean any disrespect either. I was just making a point. I was just playing the other side. I admit I smoke I and smoke in designated areas. I try to be respectful of other people that don't. TO the point I will wait or not smoke at all...My point of the post was to say hey. Its a vacation. It's time to relax. I am away from the stress at work. I like to relax. I am dressed up for work everyday. I like to dress down when I am off. I may or may not dine in the MDR

I don't mean to use you an example per say, but it's that mentality that causes many people to feel the rules don't matter, and will not follow them, which then leads to others in this thread wishing they (myself included) would enforce the established rules they have in place. If they aren't going to enforce them then they need to get rid of them.

If people are within said rules what is the use of complaining about them......plain and simple...smoking is allowed in certain areas correct..using the elevator is allowed correct. dressing down is ok correct. choices and acceptance. I just thought going on a cruise was suppose to be a vacation. Not who dresses to the 9s or who likes to wear shorts in the MDR. Who smokes or doesn't smoke. Who can or can't ride the elevator. Life it too short to worry about what other people do and think. Maybe some reconsideration is in order. It suppose to be a vacation not who is better than the Jones. Its MY vacation and I will do what I see fit. I don't judge people for what they do. maybe if you asked the company about how the process works they could give you a more definate answer. I am looking at booking also with a single type company in Feb. I will see what I can find out also but there "forum" seems to be dead.

Well I am trying to decide if I should go on a solo cruise via a singles type cruise with a company or just book a solo. Honestly the price comparison isn't that far off. I guess I am looking for the pros and cons of each....I am hoping maybe one of you has tried both...

I am cruising the eastren caribbean on the getaway in April. I guess maybe cheesy wasn't the correct wokd to use. But going to a beach through the excursion process just doesn't seem right. I mean could you just grab a cab and go to where you had wanted or is it just my western way of thinking. I am a very careful person while traveling since I am a solo traveler. I don't put myself in a difficult situations...Thanks for all the replies

I have just one question about the excursions. Do most people book them or do people tend to explore on their own?? After looking at some of them they seem a little cheesy. Maybe it is just me.

Just booked my first ever cruise...super excited...

bummer just looked at my work calender...can't get off the 4th I have training the following week that I can't miss...ugg of all the weeks...lol

Yea and the other part for me is when I am on vacation I never sleep well. would hate to keep someone else awake or annoyed. [emoji3] If I did do the singles thing I would have a roomate...and sometimes it is nice to have time to youself. Especially when you don't even know the person...yea definitely wouldn't want to feel like a piece of meat...I don't think everyone thinks that way but I am sure that some do. I am a early riser so I like to go to the gym and work out for a little while.

I teach German and English - so I studied both languages at University and I was really focused on American and English literature . Now I have been into teaching for 11 years and I do still love it. lol

I will be on the Getaway on April 4 - never been to St Maarten - want to check out that airport where the planes are landing right above your head!:D

I guessed that you are a English teacher. You are very fluent in the english (; language. I saw that beach in st.maartin also. I thought it would be neat to visit it. April 3 hmm...i am definitely thinking about it. If I went the 3rd I would have my own room. That would be a plus...I heard the cabins are actually quite a bit smaller than most people think.

I have a eight year old and a ten year old. German irish is my heritage. My name sake is german. I enjoy jim patterson books. I use to work on a Dairy farm full time but now I work a professional job in the security/law enforcement industry. I would mind meeting new people. (; A person can never have too many friends. A created a new group on Facebook called cruise critic unoffical solo/Single freinds if you ladies would like to join...I wouldnt be offended either way. Looks like that feb cruise will be my next cruise after that is in the air

Melli, I love the outdoors!! I was raised being outdoors...I was raised in the country and have always enjoyed it. Teaching my kids about the outdoors...My daughter wants to go hunting this year. When I started working I had a outdoor job and after school also. Alaska sounds like a good time...Almost moved there...I throw my ipod on and meditate...it is rather peaceful to me. I like to read also. What type of books are you into??...We have a oktoberfest fest here but nothing like germany. Where I live there are primarily German norweign iris decents....I am primarily German irish...let me tell you it's quite the combo...lol

I was in Orlando in 2003. I did the theme parks while I was there. I have been to Vegas a couple of times and don't have the desire to go back. First time was great second time not so much. I have friends from all over the u.s. and around the world so that is nice. I want to hit NYC and visit the memorial. I have researched New York much so I am not sure what I would really like to do. I have a couple days off so is always a nice day. I learned German in high school. I found that it depends how the teacher teaches it. I found it some what easy to learn
