Enjoying your review so far!
As a non-smoker I find the large smoking area on deck 11 over lido to be very annoying, I feel it should have been more aft. The whole area smells. During this NY cruise it was much more used then when I was on the Vista in Europe - now that's a surprise!

Supposed to leave at 4pm. :/

How long do you recommend visiting Maho Beach for? I've never been before although I have been to St. Maarten but only visited Philipsburg.
I am trying to decide between a tour with Bernard's that includes 45 mins at Maho Beach or taking the ferry/bus and just doing Maho.
So hard to decide and I would appreciate any input!

I just don't understand the people that say that they would have loved to have been on this "free" cruise. Being stuck in St. Thomas for 4 days was no dream come true. When we evacuated the first day, we were out in the hot sun all day and not allowed back on board for 12 hours. Carnival staff was coming around with water but also spreading germs by directly pouring water into people's used water bottles as they didn't have many cups. After about 4 hours some food was brought over, Pizza and Subway, and you had to stand out in the sun to wait for it while people who just ate took 4 portions even though others had no money on them and weren't able to get their own food. If you were lucky enough to get to the Marriott you experienced some AC but also people shoving 20 bags of chips and granola bars into their bags and every pocket they had like the world was going to end and this was the last of the food. In the days that followed we had short windows of time to go into port however we had to wait to see if letters containing travel plans would be slipped under your cabin door with instructions to leave later that day.
Carnival tried their best with contingency plans and compensation but this trip was no relaxed extended stay in St. Thomas.

There was a late night chips and salsa bar at the Blue Iguana Cantina this week on the Liberty! They should do this for a few nights during each sailing. They had about 4 different types of chips to go with their salsa.
-
I was told today on the Liberty that they do intend to sail on 9/13 but that the ports may be changed. They are not confirming that they will sail the original itinerary.
-
They are now giving people booked on chartered flights the option of staying on the ship until Sunday. The ship will return to San Juan tomorrow morning and then guests can fly out on their original flights.
-
Is the 9/13 sailing the first or second leg of the b2b, meaning are you on the Liberty now?
Yes, on the Liberty now!
-
Who told you?
A call from the Carnival care team/Guest Services but now they have updated since this morning.

Just noticed this posted on John Heald's (social network) page:
"Back on the Carnival Liberty our guests that have not already flown to San Juan are enjoying shows, music, laughter and the usual brilliant service from the Carnival crew.
We are also telling our guests on back to back cruises the good news that we are planning to operate Sunday's cruise as scheduled.
Cheers"
Thank you for this update!
After my previous post we returned to our cabin to a message that now they intend to sail on 9/13. Let's hope so!! :)

I don't think this is true as we were scheduled for a B2B but they are telling us the 9/13 sailing is not going.
Vista review. Cruise out of NYC.

Ha!!! Totally agree with you on the robes.
Standing in line with 20 people at 8pm at Guest Services with 1 robe wearer...inappropriate yet hysterical.
