  1. No worry..... They have handicap acessible shuttle buses during check in tell them you cant do stairs and they will take you on board using the gangway on deck 3 instead of the one that goes to deck 7. They even offer to wheel him onboad. When i took my mother i brought her own wheelchair. She has mobility issues too after a stroke. So no worries. If you have anytime dining you may want to call carnival and have them note yiur account that he has mobility issues. They will sit you close to the door every night. Helped out a lot with my mother.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! In my head I was ok but then I let someone else make me worry!!!!

  2. I have cruised carnival each time and I got frustrated because I couldn't get help contacting an excursion operated through carnival. So in my snobbish voice I said forget it and booked on NCL. I paid a couple hundred more for the next cruise w the same ports. I was only looking for a little justification for the price difference. ANYTHING to prove I was validated for spending more of my hard earned money... Didn't really find it ... I'm going back to carnival...I don't feel like I'm slumming.. I feel brilliant... Extra money in my pocket and no loss of service!

And two weeks after I booked w NCL a really good customer service guy got my contact info and the small issue was solved by the excursion operator.. He got paid correctly and I was satisfied!

  3. Hubby is handicapped from military on our last NCL out of New Orleans it as so simple. I didn't think of it being any other way until a friend got me worrying about it. Can anyone give me some advice? He uses a cane now and long distances / stairs are tough.

  4. Any ideas about m11 on the fantasy? Someone gave us the idea of why do you pay for a balcony when you don't stay in the room they much? So we are giving it a try! This was our compromise as I was afraid of having no windows! I will say the only two times I have been a little sea sick I was eating in the back of the ship. Any advice is truly appreciated!

  5. Ok so I was on the boards trying to find out how the early and late sitting work for shows. Then I got involved in reading your review and forgot the orgianal question.

I have read somewhere... If you are a late sitting you would go to the show first then dinner. If you are an early sitting in MDR you eat then go to the show. Is that true? Going to the show first feels backwards to me. I like the idea of not having to rush back and get ready for dinner but I also like the idea of dinner then the show. Lord, is this really all I have to be concerned about... I guess I'm blessed! Can you give me any feedback?
