  1. I am sailing out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on Celebrity Summit on January 14th.  I have a few questions as I have never sailed out of San Juan before:

    1.  Itinerary states 8:30pm departure does it really leave that late and if so can we still board early (11am ish)?

    2.  How do you find out which port this ship will sail out of as there are two ports?

    Thanks!

So I looked up your itineraries, except Reflection does THREE itineraries all called Ultimate? Two of them have Cartagena as a port... one of those has the ABC islands! But guessing you are looking at the other one that has more in common with the Princess ports.

Cartagena is old and well-preserved as far as architecture. We did the HopOnHopOff bus that included a walking tour in the old city. It was hot and very humid! (We were there right around the US Thanksgiving holiday.) In hindsight I would choose an excursion to the fort I think. Or you can just walk to the old city from where the ships dock -- we walked "home" from the walking tour stopping for the wifi at Hard Rock Cafe.

We are looking at the reflection that does all 3 ABCs, Cartagena and Grand Cayman,!

  3. Great day even if your spouse snorkels and you don’t. We were lucky enough to get picked up directly from the ship and dropped back there which saved loads of time for showers and a port visit after.

Of all the beaches we’ve enjoyed we happened to get great photos there and so we hung them where we always see them...

How did you get picked up directly from the ship?

  4. Hi,

I am so confused on beach options for Belize. I have all my other port days figured out but Belize. I have read mixed reviews on Goff's Caye (read that toilet waste goes straight into the ocean) Starfish Island (gets mixed reviews) not sure if Bannister Island is even open anymore.

Please help what would you pick? Or other beach suggestions.

We arrive in September via Carnival, family of four with a 9 and 10 year old.

    Thanks!!!

  5. Hi,

We are visiting Curacao in a few weeks and we always go to Playa Cas Abao. We would like to try another beach, any suggestions for something as good or better with a similar feel and resources. Last time we paid a fortune for the taxi. Thanks!

  6. Hi, we are visiting St Lucia in a couple weeks and it will be our anniversary. Last time we stopped we did an island tour so we want to do a beach day but we a looking for something intimate and beautiful for a romantic anniversary beach day. We prefer white sand beaches. Any day pass recommendations or an alternative? Thanks!

  7. Hi, we are visiting barbados in a couple weeks and want to try something new. We always visit Crane Beach and love the beauty and tranquility but would like something similar with chairs and umbrellas, good food and turquoise water. We are not into the party scene. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  8. Hi,

We (two couples in their 40s and 50s) are arriving in a couple weeks on a day three ships will be in Port. That seems like a lot for St Kitts. We are looking for a beach day. We want to rent chairs and umbrellas, eat good food and play in the water. I prefer a nice white sand beach and we are not into the party scene. Where would you go? Thanks!

  9. We have an overnight stop in Aruba next month and would like to line up a car rental ahead of time at the port. We have read lots of negative reviews on Aruba car rentals and was hoping someone has a recommendation. Also, do you think it is safe to park a rental car overnight at the port and if so where would we park? Thanks!

  10. My husband and I were on the eclipse in January last year on a 14 night Caribbean cruise we felt very out of place as the average age of cruisers was 60+. We are doing a 10 night Caribbean cruise over Thanksgiving do you think the crowd will be more diverse?

  11. I haven't done any B&B's. But here are a couple of hotels I've stayed at in the French Quarter that you might consider Boutique hotels that I can recommend:

This one I haven't stayed at yet but I will this weekend:

I would love to hear about your stay at Chateau Lemoyne when you return! Enjoy your stay!
