  1. I went with the for mentioned 2.00pm First Sea Day Commodore Club option for our 2014 May WB Crossing, the only downer was it was probably the roughest sea day of the week, so a few people were not feeling up to it or not able to stay for the whole M&G (myself included).

  2. I posted 5 Letters from QM2 they all arrived the same day I got back from NY. I believe if your going Westbound and post to the UK, the Letters travel back on the QM2, ( lucky Gits )and are put into the postal system at Southampton.

  3. You aren't going to catch it without some exchange of bodily fluids. How is that likely to happen on a cruise?

Well if your Parents never explained it to you, I'm sure it's far to late in life to learn now :)

  4. , there is little storage space for anything much bigger than a briefcase/carry-on bag.

Both Times I have taken the Train from Waterloo to Southampton there has been a Luggage section it is opposite the toilet in each carriage, room for Cases or two or three Bikes.

  5. How does one check the ship capacity? This would be very useful information should a serious problem like the one you encountered arise.

Go to the Muster drill and count quickly :) .

On the 10th Ann crossing to NYC they actually had a sign on the Pursers Desk stating that all staterooms where booked, so maybe if that's the norm, as long as there are no notes assume they have spares.

  6. Was there not a thread about the strange smell on QM2? Perhaps we have the answer....................asparagus!!!:D

Funny because I had not known this about the Vegetable before hand, and was on the verge of calling someone thinking I had the dreaded dry drain issue that I had read about on the Forum. :)

  7. Was it coming from Images, there was a very strong smell in there on the May crossing that you could smell outside the Queens room, I took it to be something use in the Photo processing.

  8. Well my table (in May '14) is shown on the diagram with the same number and in the same position as it was in reality. However, they do move numbers about very occasionally.

    Hope this helps.

Our table number from May 2014 sailing (lower deck) is also consistent with the table-seating map.

It can feel very congested in Britannia on the QM2. We have often requested the upper deck and found this less so.

    Have a wonderful sailing!

Same sailing and my table is show correctly

  9. Recently returned from a 6 night stay at the Grand Hyatt post QM2 Crossing booked through Cunard I though it was fantastic, Indoor walkway to Grand Central for the Subway especially the 6 Av Express to Fulton Street for 9/11 and Bowling Green for Statue of Liberty, plus the S Train Shuttle to Time Square. Next door to the Chrysler Building, walking distance to Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Centre. M42 Bus runs East To U.N and West for The Intrepid Museum and Circle Line Tours. Going to stay there again when I fly to NYC in 2016.

  10. Sandy asked

Is there anything on the Cunard website about the event at all?

    You replied

There is no information at all on the Cunard website..

This was on the release, no it is not detailed but it does give an outline.

The major 10th Anniversary celebrations will begin on 9 May 2014 when all three ships of the Cunard fleet will arrive together in their homeport of Southampton and sister ships Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth will salute the flagship’s first ten years. The day will feature special sail-pasts, a celebratory lunch and a spectacular send-off of fireworks as all three ships set sail together from Southampton that evening, with Queen Mary 2 leading the way. Further details about the day’s events planned will be forthcoming soon.
