I absolutely love the new Deli. So many new options, and more than just lunch meats. The meatball and buffalo chicken are my favorite. Truffle fries are really tasty too. The cuban and southwest chicken wrap are pretty good too.

Just curious. Did you really not like it, or could you not get over the fact that they assembled them in advance? You know, for all of the people concerned about it being "fresh" there isn't much difference between the turkey sitting in a tub vs it being placed in a wrap because that's where it's going to be soon anyways.

They make them on-site, not sent to them pre-packaged. Big difference. I've also personally never seen a custom order turned down.

I still got them made custom, but I got major attitude from the deli guy every single time.  Even when there was nobody else in line.  I did try the pre-made buffalo chicken wrap but it was so soggy from being premade it was inedible.  The difference?  Mustard and mayo seeping through the premade wrap.  That's what I have an issue with, along with not being able to add the ingredients I desire, without getting attitude.

It also wasn't just me, one day the lady in front of my ordered a gluten free reuben with sauerkraut on the side, it took 15 minutes and the sandwich still came out wrong.

  2. Hello recent Carnival cruisers! I'm just off the Miracle, and the Carnival Deli is my *favorite* place to eat, besides the steakhouse.  I should say though the Deli really disappointed on my cruise last week.  As in, I love a freshly made turkey wrap with tomatoes, onions, pickles, and mayo, which takes all of like 30 seconds to make, but I got major attitude every time I wanted something other than the "premade" turkey wrap.

What have you all experienced on recent Carnival cruises? Are the premade wraps the way of the future?  Or was my experience a one-off?

  3. Get the balcony.  It's still a vacation - why make it more stressful?  Instead of getting Cheers, maybe think about getting bottomless bubbles - that way if you do mixed drinks (e.g. rum and coke, jack and coke) you can order them separately, only paying for the shot, and mix them yourself!

    Whatever you do - enjoy!

  4. I went on an NCL cruise and one of the people in my party was gluten free.  I would highly recommend NCL from that perspective - they did a great job working with her in terms of meal planning - in the MDR as well as with specialty dining.

  5. Hi all! I need some help...

We're planning a cruise to Bermuda.  It's a sea day/bermuda overnight/sea day back.  The thing is, I think 5 day cruises are too short in general, and even more so when I have to fly across the entire country to do so.

    BUT

I like being on the water and moving.  We could do a 6 day which is sea day/bermuda/bermuda/bermuda/sea day.  Is there enough to do in Bermuda to stay occupied for 3 days? Or am I going to be sitting on my balcony, staring at the same scenery for 3 days?

I have been looking for a B2B, a 4 day to add to the 5 day, and I'm not having much luck.  Thanks!

  6. Hi all!

My cruise buddy and I are looking at going on our 2nd NCL cruise next year.  We're normally Carnival cruisers, but after our Med cruise we want to try out NCL again!

However, our balcony room was TINY compared to Carnival's balcony rooms.  In looking at our potential itineraries (NCL Gem to Bermuda), it looks like there are balcony rooms and mini-suites which are a bit bigger, but then a huge jump to penthouse rooms.  Is there are "regular suite" type of room?  We're not a family, it's just me and my friend, we just want a bit more room to stretch out.  We couldn't use our couch at all in our balcony room on the last NCL cruise.

    Any suggestions/information are appreciated!

  7. It might just be the 2 corner cabins that have the WIC. We were in 7672 and it did not have the WIC.

Do you have a picture of the cabin 7672? I'm in it in October but I'm still on the fence if I'm going to actually go on the cruise. Any info to help sway my decision to RC would be appreciated! (I've sailed Carnival up to this point).

    TIA!

  8. Hi everyone,

I'm Paula, a seasoned solo business and personal traveler, yet never considered going on a cruise alone - even though I love cruising!

2 years ago went for a cruise with a friend and on my birthday she got sick...and then was sick for the next few days, so I spent a lot of time on my own.

This year, I need a vaca and she can't go, so I figured, why not just go by myself. I'm so excited to see so many other people who love solo cruising!
