  1. HA! Now who has vacation time to burn? I haven't cruised since January so mine all backed up on me. Problems to have, right? :D

Can Sunday take any longer to get here? :( I'm on my last day of work before the trip today!

Haha yea I planned one 3 week cruise but ended up switching to this one and a week one last month. I don't get paid vacation so I can go whenever I can afford it lol

  2. lol... I had five weeks to burn through or else I would end of losing them. Fat chance that'd happen so I looked for long voyages and found the Sun's to be dirt cheap. I also went to places I'd never seen before! :D

Looking forward to some good times on the Breakaway! I know the DJ will be awesome! :)

The dj is awesome just got off the ship couple weeks ago.

  3. Hey All!

The longer voyages seem to have a lot more gay folks. I just got back from 22 days on the Norwegian Sun and the 17 day repo cruise there were a ton of gay guys (although no listing on here). Hopefully we'll have an equally great turn out for the Breakaway. I also hope we can do a disco take over because the music on the Sun was not so fun. Got more sleep than I bargained for but now I'm ready for the real party!

Where's my party animals at? :D

Someone have a lot of vacation time haha. I hope the turn out is high

  4. My wife and I (CC name: Rebeccathegeek) will be on this cruise! Super excited that there was a G&L roll call in addition to the other one. The G&L meeting we went to on the Gem last year was empty, so I'm glad to see Breakaway's 4000 passenger count has a bit more variety! :)

Sure there will be a ton more on our cruise

  5. I did a great private tour in Barbados and will be doing it again this coming trip. If you think you'd be interested in going let me know we can arrange more then one van if we need to. Depending on how many people are interested the price can vary. I'd say anywhere from $85 to $120 per person. This is a sample of the tour might be:

We will drive by Carlisle Bay, Garrison Savannah, Gun Hill Signal Station, East coast, Morgan Lewis Sugar Mill, West Coast - Speightstown & Holetown.

Stop at Bathsheba, Cherry Tree Hill, Wildlife Reserve and Paynes Bay to swim with the turtles and snorkel at shipwreck.

    Let me know your thoughts.

  6. So of course we almost always do beachy things on the islands, but I kept hearing about this excursion being super cool and the reviews are excellent. Has anyone else heard of this or done it?

You get to design your own cologne/perfume in a professional perfumery setting:

They are typically closed on the day we are in port (Sat), but I have been in contact and they will open for our group if we want (I have 7 in my group) plus anyone else here that might want to participate.

I don't know but I think the idea of having a custom fragrance (that you can even reorder) is pretty cool, especially since we have plenty of other ports that are beach centered.

What do you think? Anyone have experience with this already?

    Danny

That actually sounds pretty cool. And it looks like you can do that and still enjoy the island. Any idea of how much it is?

  7. I sailed out of NYC on New Years in 2011 and when we returned to NYC there was a snowstorm which blanketed NYC and was still in New England when the ship returned. We sailed through it on the day and night of the cruise. The winds were high and the ship did have a list to it but nothing as dramatic as what the Anthem experienced. There was also snow on the pool deck when we arrived into NYC and it was also on the balcony. Storms will happen and the ships will sail through them if they're not extreme. Rough seas are fun, however, the rough seas the Captain of Anthem sailed into borders on negligence. If not done right, the ship could have capsized in the waves and high winds. I've never sailed through a storm as ferocious as that and I've done some hurricane sailing and had many a rough seas. The Breakaway's Trans-Atlantic crossing was quite the adventure as well. We had to re-route to avoid a storm and go faster to get to NYC faster.

We'll be fine though! I have full confidence! :)

    Couldn't agree with you more

  8. Hey guys - my partner and I will be on this cruise, along with my brother and sister-in-law. We are looking forward to this cruise already. Will meet up at Friends of Dorothy, but look me up online...

Welcome, it's going to be a blast, i was getting off the gem on the 13th of December we missed eachother

  9. The Baths at Virgin Gorda are pretty. I've done them and they're well worth it. You can go into the rock formations but just wear shoes you want to throw away or water shoes for sure. The rocks are jagged in there so going barefoot is really not recommended.

I was talking to a friend who said Martinique is very unique in that the place runs on Euros and also not overly tourist friendly. I guess I'll be doing an NCL excursion for sure at that port then! Settles that... now for NCL to get the excursions listed so I know what's available. This is a post-Thanksgiving cruise and it seems like a lot of GLBT do sail during that time. On the Epic cruise I did last year, there was a huge showing of GLBT. I was quite surprised by it!!

Now if only this snow would go away. :D

I have water shoes, I went into a cave one time yea that'll never happen again haha, I'm probably going to book an excursion for Martinique but no idea if it'll be thru Ncl or take a taxi cab your

  10. Hey Guys,

I'm back from my holiday although this is a new roll call thread. There was one from before! LOL... trying to keep me on my toes?

Anyway, I'm sailing with my mom this voyage. It's the first time she's been to sea in over two years. I tend to go a bit more frequently. There's a new port of Martinique that I've never been to. I've been to the rest. Since I've been to some of these ports numerous times I will go off on my own and do my own thing probably. Some of the less frequented ports I will likely do a NCL shore excursion (have that perk as part of the offers recently). :)

I'm definitely down for a beach at a few of the more frequented island stops. I can't speak for mom though. She likes to do adventure and exploring stuff. I much prefer a leisurely holiday!

    So hello boys! :)

Yea I like to keep you on your tip toes, that's awesome your mom is coming I'm right there with her love an adventure there's plenty of leisure time on the cruise once we hit land I'm running around haha.

Martinique is the only place I haven't been and Tortola I want to go to the virgin baths

  11. Hi Mark, im in the same boat as you - pun kind of intended :) I love cruises but my friends don't. Im Marc 37, originally from London, now living in NYC. I'm actually booked in a studio on the anthem of the seas out of NYC (actually NJ side of the hudson) via pied piper (gay charter - but not really a gay cruise).

Hey Marc, I've heard of pied piper. I've never been on Royal Caribbean.
