Talako, is the Tavern going to replace the Aquarium bar? I really liked sitting there, it was nice and open.
Yes the Tavern is a new concept for Royal. Voyager is the only ship that will have it for now. It will be a multipurpose lounge with TVs for Sports, Dart Boards, etc.
The new Art Gallery will be on the opposite side of what also was part of the Aquarium Bar.

Thank you for the pics. They are amazing!
What category are these new cabins? Have they been sold for this cruise?
Hi,
In total, there are 110 new cabins being installed. Catagories M, N, Q, & I.
24 Panoramic staterooms on Deck 12 and the rest in former venues like the old Vault Disco that has been torn out on Deck 3.
There will also be 81 virtual balconies installed in inside cabins.

thanks talako, if voyager already has coach and MK then maybe its a good chance it will be kate spade!! We are in singapore for 4 days pre cruise and one of the things on the list is to case out the kate spade shops, but if its on Voyager then thats even better.
Really appreciate you sussing it out for me. Is it also true that all cabins will be refurbished with new carpet, mattresses, curtains, bathrooms, linen etc etc?
What is your role with the refurb?
Hi Miamia65,
I am the Head Broadcast Technician on board the Voyager, so I am in charge of all the TV Satellites, Wayfinders, Pool Video Wall, etc... Basically if it has video involved, then I am involved. :)
Also, yes it is true...all the staterooms get new carpets, drapes, decorations, mattresses, etc.. Everything gets redone. This is the longest and largest Dry Dock that Royal Caribbean has ever done.

No, those bits would go overboard;)
Of course...that's how we do it on Dry Docks :-)

ohhhhh are you teasing me? leather store - Oasis just added kate spade and michael korrs and I think they kept the coach store. I will cross my fingers and hope that you will come back and tell me its Kate Spade! thanks for keeping us updated and we will see you on the 25th singapore to sydney cruise. Hopefully everything will be finished when we get on the ship!!!
Yes we too have the Coach Store as well as the MK Store. I will do some digging and see what this new one will be for ya! :)

Any chance of some photos of the new cabins up on deck 12, in particular the disabled cabins. We have 1 booked for the return cruise and curious to see what its like.
Thanks
Hi,
They are not built yet...just the shell is done. They construct the shell on the pier and then hoist it up on the ship and then build the actual cabins. I will be sure to get photos of them for you.

Ahhh the repositioning cruise! That should be fun as it is my last voyage before I go back home for vacation!

thanks Talako, we are also boarding on 25 November, the countdown is on.
Do you know if a Kate Spade shop will be added, like they have done during the recent oasis of the seas dry dock?
Hi,
There will be a couple new stores added however they have not given us the names as of yet. I know one store will be a leather store.

38 days to get it ready for me. :D

Hi,
I am the Head Broadcast Technician currently on the Voyager of the Seas. We will be adding 38 new cabins on Deck 12 forward (14 with balconies), 81 inside cabins will have the new "Virtual Balcony" installed, in addition to 39 new cabins being added to Deck 3. In addition we will be the first Voyager class ship to have tenders installed, 8 in total, as well as many other improvements.
I plan on starting a new thread with photos of the dry dock progress. Keep an eye out for it.

Hello all!
Rocco and I are back from the cruise. Rocco did WONDERFUL for his first time and I look forward to cruising with him again. The crew were terrific to him and so were the passengers. Everyone went out of their way to make him feel comfortable. He was a rock star! :) even the captain wanted to meet him :)
Thanks to everyone for their advice and expertise. Roz you were great in mentioning to have copies made for the check in staff! Having those ready made it a breeze to check in.
Thanks again! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will have a great 2011.

Frank, were you on the Oosterdam last year? Did you make our door signs? I still have mine and used it last week! What a small world! :D
Oh my gosh! Yes that was me :D It makes me feel so proud that you still have the door sign and still use it!
A small world indeed!

Hi Roz and welcome back! It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation! I am sooooo ready for this trip on Saturday.
I have a question for you or anyone else that has experience. When you arrive at the pier in LA and check in, do you have to meet anyone special from the ship (like the hotel director or anybody) to board the ship with your service dog?
I know this question is probably stupid but I was just curious if I just check in and board like normal or if they bring us (me and service dog) on personally.
Thanks for your patience...its Rocco's first cruise and I would like to have all my ducks in a row :) hehe
