  1. I agree, unless it less expensive than booking on your own, make your own flight plans. We have used cruise air twice. Once from Costa Rica when princess stuck us on a charter plane that had 100 extra passengers to LAX. We didn't have seat assignments until 2 weeks before the cruise and couldn't move.

The second time was a simple one to LAX but the pre cruise transfers sent us to a hotel for 5 hours instead of the cruise ship.

I only book transfers to the airport now with the cruise line.

  2. I've used coffee cards that were old before. It depends on the barista. Sometimes they check the name of the ship on the card but 80% of the time they don't. I used one from the Sapphire 2013 on the CP in 2014 with no problem. Hot chocolate, tea and coffee were not a problem.

I plan on using a couple old ones with punches left on my CP voyage in 2 weeks.

    Have a great cruise.

  3. Ship. We did the on 2/19 and it's a long trek. I would hate to get stuck in the middle of Belize on a private tour. If you don't make it back to the ship they won't wait for you. It was worth the bus ride. Plan in being gone all day. Our tour went 1 hour longer then anticipated due to extra time at the ruins (great guides) and traffic in Belize City.

  4. I was on a tender in Belize last week. All were large Catamarans that had plenty of life jackets and space, we left on the first tender and it was not overcrowded. Maybe we were just lucky with Princess but the 2 NCL ships had large Catamarans too.

  5. We did the 14 day out of Vancouver on the Sapphire the last two years. I think it's because they had issues booking the northbound cruises. Last year we paid $499 per person for an inside for 14 days and the year before we paid $999 for an ov obstructed. I anticipate they will drop again this year, but it will definitely be harder to book the same cabin. I'll watch the prices and see what happens. I never book a cruise more than 3 months in advance.

  6. The water is not bad. We drink a minimum of 8 glasses a day. We flew with a case of water on the last 3 cruises and brought it on board. We check it as we don't pay baggage fees on United. If that's not an option buy local water before you get on the ship. Princess lets you bring it onboard, it will save you some $$ as the princess water in bottles can be pricy. Have a great cruise.

  7. We sailed out if Houston last week. Can from hobby to springhill suites in sea rook was $37.50 fixed from the airport. The hotel is great and includes breakfast. Hooters and a fine dining restaurant are a 2 minute walk and there is a convenience store between the two restaurants (pick up wine for the cruise if you don't want to fly with it). Cab from springhill to bayport cruise terminal was $15.00 plus tip. Shuttle service was $10 per person. We called ahead and the hotel arranged for our cab. We have priority boarding so we left the hotel at 11:40 to bayport and were in our cabin by 12:09. Easy to sail out of, but not a pretty port.

  8. We were on the ship from 2/15 to 2/22. The outbreak wasn't serious enough that you couldn't serve yourself in the buffet. I've been in ships that had staff serve you when there is a serious outbreak. We had awesome weather and a great time. My husband and I always use hospital grade sanitizer hand wipes eating out on sea or land back home. Never use the public bathroom and pick up food with utensils not your hands. Try not to use handrails and don't touch your mouth or nose with your hands. We were fortunate that we didn't get sick but it's a risk you take anytime you are with 4000 people. Enjoy your cruise and have a great time. The staff on this ship was awesome. Passenger services, gift shop, bartenders, waiters, stewards, gallery staff and cruise director all were great.
