  1. I have access to my credit card account online. No refund is showing. My sense is HAL is not like other merchants. For some reason they process refunds much more slowly. I think it should be a simple matter to refund a deposit, but that does not seem to be the case. Not great customer service. I appreciate there may be a queue of some sort (not sure why when they only need to refund a deposit). Interested in knowing other peoples experiences and/or whether there is a practical way to check on the refund’s status.

  2. About a month ago I cancelled a Trans Atlantic cruise after Holland America radically changed both it’s dates and itinerary. After a bit of back and forth I was promised a full refund. Based on people’s past experience how much  longer should I expect to wait to receive it ? Does anyone have a good phone number or e-mail address to check on the status of the refund?  I’ve called and was given another number that seems perpetually busy. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Not feeling warm and fuzzy towards HAL at the moment.

  3. We’re not happy. Other than being a TA, it’s not the same cruise… None of the same ports, going across on more northern route, different dates-wouldn’t be home for Easter/Passover. A real black eye for HAL from my perspective. We’re most likely going to cancel.

  4. I was forced to cancel a cruise over 2 weeks ago. I had Platinum (any reason) coverage. I submitted my claim to the insurance carrier and it was acknowledged as received. I have heard nothing since. How long will it take Princess to give me the credit for the cost of the cancelled cruse and a refund for excursions, port charges and transfers? Thanks for sharing your experience.

  5. I filed an "any reason" claim. The medical verfication part of the form is burdensome. and intrusive. My mother is hospitalized in another city. The form would require my mother's doctor to complete it and my mother's signature for a release of her records. I agree that the "any reason" claim was easy to file. Glad I'm ok with credit and glad that I have platinum coverage.

  6. I've just had to cancel a Princess transatlantic cruise because of my mother's illness. I have platinum coverage. I just wanted to have my fare credited for a future cruise. Princess says the only way to proceed is to file a claim with the insurance carrier. This seems cumbersome. Has anyone had experience with this process? Is there anyway to get around this process when one is only requesting a future credit rather than cash? I'm not wanting to go through the process of medical verfication. I guess I naively thought that that the cancel for any reason coverage would be simple to invoke.

  8. The quarantine lasts for 24 hours after your last "episode". Noro symptoms can often last for just 24 hours or less.

I can speak from experience. I was quarintined for 36 hours when I had Noro last month on the Ruby. I think the notion that someone should be comped for having the virus borders on the ridiculous.Believe me if you catch Noro you will not need to be bribed to entice you to stay in your cabin. Leaving will be the last thing on your mind!

  9. We have the Deet! The mini suite is a great anniversary surprise for your wife Dave. This is our first free meta upgrade. Still trying to figure how we got so lucky! Pam hinted on anther thread that she does not like to be mid ship. Maybe that will be a negative for us. It could be a tad noisy mid ship one deck under the Lido.

  10. We were just upgraded from an obstructed ocean view to a balcony for free on the Ruby. I thought I had a big bargain originally at $229 pp plus a $200 pp OBC for a 5,day getaway. I guess not too many people want to go to Jamaica in November!
