  1. We would take our two on holiday generally where there was a simple pool - kids and water seems to be a good enough mix and spend the day there.

I see where you are coming from - a bit for adults a bit for kids -would the ships pool be OK for the two year old? How long do you think you will get in Aqualand?

I note that a up to 4 yrs age entry is free - often means there is not a lot for them. Why not send an email to Aqualand and see what they say?

  2. What is speaking "American"? I'm dual citizen Canadian/American and some of our closest friends are English. We all speak the same language - don't we?

Ummm..well...nearly ?:):):) "two nations divided by a common language" ?

    From an English perspective:

    These chips, are fries

    This queue, a line

    This tap, a faucet

    Wardrobe, a closet

    Vacation, holiday

    Underground, subway

    Chemist, a drugstore

    Autumn, is fall

    A garden, a yard

You see now? It's not hard

  3. When we went on our first cruise we had picked something that we felt 'comfortable' with. We did get bit confused over drinks packages and dress rules etc and if we had read some of the posts here we would probably never had booked. We found that all in all it was not such a big deal, get what you want and relax about the rest. In saying that there was also a load of good info much of it in the vein where you could ask 'would that do for me' and from that came answers -usually positive.

  4. Must admit I am appalled at the X web site! It is not a good advert for X at all and I am having misgivings !

I saw our excursion bookings ---once -- and cannot find them again. The driks package and OBC does not appear on our documentation (I only have an invoice from the TA and to my mind that is not the same as having it showing on X paperwork). I have contacted the TA who tells me that all will be well and its quite normal for such things not to appear on the X paperwork.

I would expect to be able to check on the web site but I am getting a message that the account is being worked upon or an Error page.

Its not good enough Celebrity and you will lose custom over it.

I would also expect a clear email address to be shown where issues could be addressed.

  5. Best to check on the particular cruise line forum and read the T&Cs. Celebrity allows you to bring two bottles of wine per cabin at embarkation but does not agree with bringing any on once the cruise has started.

Must admit I like the way Thomson handles these things and also has a good drinks package deal as well as very goos entertainment They need better ships tho it may not matter much on Med cruises

  6. Biggest time-waster, completely avoidable, and completely the cruiser's fault: Standing in line waiting for the MDR to open. Folks, you have an assigned table and assigned dining time. No one is going to beat you to your spot and eat all your lobster tails.

Perhaps it just shows how good the on-board entertainment can be - some prefer to line up at the MDR

  7. We have checked the 'Guest Ticket Booklet' and there is no entry for on board credit or drinks packages. Our TA in the UK states that its normal for Celebrity to show nothing but we should take our Invoice from the TA .

Not a very satisfactory situation....I expect the entire deal to be well documented before the cruise so as to eliminate (if that is possible) any issues.

We are still questioning. Any information or constructive advice will be appreciated

  8. Depending on what you want to do/see in Rome its may be worth knowing that lines for attractions can be long but tickets may be purchased on line before you go - hence helping to avoid the lines.

  9. They don't have to pay 15% if they don't purchase anything else that haven't paid gratuities on.

If they drink the free items: coffee, tea, water, juices then no need to pay more.

But just like when you go to a bar or restaurant and purchase items, you need to tip.

    .

Be aware that in the UK tipping is not the 'rule' (to use a phrase) as such. When you go to a bar you rarely tip. Some may leave the small change from the bill/cheque but others may not. Indeed some are surprised when the hear that tipping is more the norm in the USA.

  10. Okay. So can I get a Martini with my Classic Beverage Package. Someone throw me a bone:)

From reading other posts looks as if you can get a small Martini at some if not all bars (someone can confirm please?). Not sure that the classic package includes bones.

  11. If Ive paid for a cruise I want to listen to professional entertainers. Not a 'Kareoke' of variable passenger musicians.

"a 'Kareoke' of variable passenger musicians":eek::eek:

What about a Lion doing tricks?

  12. As with most subjects this has been covered and discussed in many other threads

Never known why the Reefer 🚬 hasn't caught on for the Reflection?

    Cruise on 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

A dictionary states that Reefer is a refrigerated ship

    also

    A slang term for cannabis.

    Perhaps not the image required?
