  1. So cruise itinerary states an arrival time of 9am. What time am I likely to be able to get off the ship? I want to collect a hire car in Savona city but latest collection time is 12pm as it is a Sunday. Am I going to be able to make it? Its on the Costa Neo-Riveria so im hoping as a smallish ship may be ok?

  2. I've sailed on Mariner a couple of times in recent years and you will still be seated at a fixed table if you choose the regular dining times. Changing of tables daily may only happen on My Time Dining.

This is valid for cruises out from Singapore but those out from Shanghai might differ.

Thanks for the post. I've read a few more reviews and yes looks like the unallocated tables is on Mariner out of Shanghai. Do you know/think whether Voyager from HK will be the same?

  3. I wanted to thank you for your great review. I am looking at a Asia cruise on Mariner this year, never sailed Royal Caribbean before or in Asia, and have found so few helpful reviews so thank you!

The few reviews I have seen have also been very negative so glad to see someone who embraced the differences of an Asia cruise!

Glad that the English Pub has reopened too, my other half will be pleased!

I did have a quick question if you don't mind...I read somewhere that on the Mariner in the MDR you are allocated one of the two sittings for dinner but do not allocate tables, you just get seated somewhere different every evening? Was this your experience or did you have an allocated table for the duration of the cruise? Thanks in anticipation [emoji846]

  4. Thanks both, will definitely buy, agree its such good value compared to most ships packages, although have to say I think I prefer MSC package - better beer & more choice of draft beer for OH and more cocktails I like - but Costa won out this year on itinerary and cruise cost (late deal special)

  5. Was on the Fascinosa 2 years ago and due to advice on CC, booked the drinks package online before sailing so avoiding the additional 15% service charge. However although I booked the package in advance online, it was simply 'reserved' and added to onboard account and paid for at end of the cruise.

Just booked to go on the Pacifica in October. logged into website to book drinks package again and they now seem to require a credit card payment when booking. Is there anyway to reserve now but have payment added to onboard account? That way Im guessing it will earn costa club points? Other alternative is to book onboard but does this still attract the additional service charge?

If anyone has booked / travelled recently and can advise it would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  6. Am considering the 7 night western med itinerary, never sailed NCL before, and had a questions for people who may have.

My limited experience on a cruise ship has been with traditional fixed dining times, however this has involved a daily changing menu, and being on the italian cruise lines, 5-6 course meals, so plenty of choice and something different every day. We did not mind the food but found the fixed dining times limiting at some points and thought anytime dining and a more casual dining approach may be worth trying.

However, I noticed comments on a forum elsewhere that the menus in the epics restaurants stay the same the whole cruise - and that in the two 'mdrs' it is the same menu in both restaurants - so whilst you may have a choice of venues and times to eat the actual food choices are perhaps more limited to the same few dishes all week (buffet aside), unless you pay extra for specialty restaurants? Is this correct or was the post I viewed misleading?

    Thanks in anticipation.

  7. Hi- this is my first post :)

We are booked on the Fascinosa on 25 June from Venice.

I've previously cruised on the Norwegian Epic and could prebook my shows, dining etc.

Does anyone know if this can be done with Costa. We are said to only receive our documents 21 days prior to departure.

Also is it worth purchasing the all inclusive drinks for my kids? Are the soft drinks on board expensive.

    Thanks for the advice.

We are on this cruise early Oct - how did you find it? Our first cruise too :)

  8. I am travelling on Costa Mediterranea on 29th August and have booked the all inclusive drinks package at 19.50 euros a day..

Just to clarify, is this is just beer/ wine and soft drinks or is it everything but the starred drinks on the drinks menu that has been posted on here? (Just Costa's website is quite confusing)

Secondly.. has everyone who has bought this package found it good value?

    Cheers

    Steven

I am going on my first ever cruise in October, on the Costa Fascinosa. I emailed Costa customer services to ask what was included in the all inclusive drinks package and was sent this document (attached); it seems a little different from the other version previously posted, as not a full menu with starred items, but just a list of what is included? Dont know if content is exactly the same but in a different format but thought Id share. I was also told you can purchase the all inclusive package before you travel (eg online) or on the ship; id previously read on forums that this package was only available to purchase prior to sailing?
