  1. I am totally new here so forgive me if I am asking this question in the wrong place, which I probably am, but despite reading and reading, including on the Princess website, I can find no specific and consistent information telling or showing exactly what areas are considered "designated." This info is needed for a Jan 2013 Caribbean cruise on Emerald, if that matters.

It surprises me a bit that Princess does not show these areas on their deck plans. Whether a smoker or someone wanting a cabin away from these areas, I would think that many people would be thankful for this information BEFORE they cruise, or even book their cruise.

I am seeking specific information please. For instance does "port side" mean the entire port side? Does the casino mean the entire casino? What about the lounges? I read where someone complained about smoking in Explorers. Any designated area which are not topside? Where? What specific areas topside are allowed?

I am familiar with the layout of 2 other Princess ships (Grand & Golden), so if someone who has been on the Emerald lately could list the areas considered "designated" I should be able to figure out where they are on board, even if I have to reference deck plans. Thank you!
