Another question if you don’t mind. If you have the SS package and are in a DV cabin, will they stock your mini fridge with liquor/ beer?

I had sent this question to tellus@viking and the answer they sent me Was no, not in a DV.

should be fine...if you are in a v or dv it is a little tough to get them out on the side near the closet....so if you are using for added storage space use the open side.  With self serve laundry or viking's great laundry service you may not need 3 big suitcases.  Not a lot of storage in the lower category rooms.  If you are on the Sun or newer  there are more drawers in the closet ( I am assuming the the Orion has those drawers too)

Thank you . We’re in a dv so I guess I’ll make it work.  My dh has an injury and can’t lift much weight so I’m trying to distribute everything in more bags. I’m going to be doing the lifting and a 50 lb bag is really too much for me. We are on the sun so more drawers sounds good, but I’m thinking that takes up hanging space . I know I’m probably taking too much, but I hate it when just what I want is in my closet at home!!

    3 more days!

This is mostly geared to the gals...I’m deciding what to pack now and am having a hard time. My head says winter-looking clothes...darker colors...suede boots, long sleeves. (I never buy truly WINTER clothes like sweaters, wool stuff, etc. for our two weeks’ worth of truly cold weather!  I just layer!) I think the “summer”  weather will range from 50-85...yes? We are used to a month of 100 plus degree weather, so I’m thinking fall looking clothes. Any thought on this?

Im only on the first segment and expect , well  hope at least, that will be warm weather.  So I’m packing summer clothes, shorts and sundress’s mostly. When we lived in Miami we wore summer type clothes year around so that’s  how I’m thinking about it. Of course those of you doing the wc will have a completely different situation! I can’t imagine trying to figure that out 😎

Yes, we did xfer to a TA for additional OBC.  Viking onboard salesperson recommended some TAs.
He was very helpful as, once again, our desired cruise was not yet posted (Bergen to Montreal ship xfer, "In the Wake of the Vikings") so he had us "book" a random cruise of similar length (so we could get the $400pp) and we "switched" cruises to the one we really wanted when we got home.

Was the on board sales person able to tell you the amount of OBC you would get from the TAs he was recommending?  It’s nice to hear he was so helpful!

Easy solution, just don't book early.  As a rule we never book anything over 6 months out and have always gotten what we want.  Some of the best deals and accommodations come late.  We booked the Inaugural WC 8 months out and were amazed to meet passengers onboard who had booked (and paid in many cases) two years out!   The Viking onboard experience is so good it is worth figuring out how to deal with the shore side management.:classic_biggrin:

We had planned to book a 2020 cruise while on board our January 2019  cruise but with this new policy we won’t .  I like your easy solution, we’ll wait and decide later .
