Thanks, i asked my cruise booking agent but apart from giving me the official blurb ( inserted at bottom) he could not give any idea of pricing. I think they should give at least a ball park price as people like to know if its even within their budget or not.

I thought i heard that you can schedule a professional photoshoot with one of the ships photographers while on the cruise? where they take you around the ship personally and take photos then edit them . has anyone had this service and how much did it cost?

I can tell you the security team on board is pretty good, they take noets and have a board in their office of noted " problem cabins" they will and DO follow up on numerous complaints.

Yes i have used streaming video form the sunshine ( they have the new faster connections ) and it was fine, here is a screen pic taken from the other end.

The camera is NOT looking into your balcony, its part of the FIR system that basically lets the bridge know if a large object such as a person falls from the sides of the ship. I have seen the system on the bridge and no one looks at it unless there is an alarm

yeah our group is usually pretty well known by the end of the cruise :) what other group has a cameraman following them around streaming the whole thing live ?

In chatting to some fellow guests at the beach in grand turk, one guest was complaining bitterly , I may add, that his whole vacation was ruined.. why you may ask, did he get food poisoning ? did he slip and fall ? did he get given a cabin in the engine room by mistake? no, he said it was ruined because ONE of the elevators was out of order for 2 days??? ONE, on the carnival sunshine, now if you have been on this ship you will know the layout and I was on the deck they were working on said elevator ( deck 6 ) and yes it was out, but there were 8 -9 other working elevators right there.

So im sitting there wondering HOW that is ruining his cruise, then he say NCL never has this problem , their elevators always work?? somehow i doubt any mechanical machine always works. I was with one of the craw at the time so I didn't say anything but really ???

I ask you do you on vacation really let these little things worry you so much it actually ruins a vacation?

4th cruise , I take many friends who are 1st time cruisers with me , by many i mean 6-8 :)

This is my 2nd Sunshine cruise, the 1st being 6 months ago. during this time I Met the CD Jaime twice briefly, well I walked into the morning show she does on the 2nd morning and wow, she remembered me and my name, amazing, from that point on she checked in regularly with our group, even did a sit down interview for one of our groups podcast, Darnel followed up as well with a special surprise for one of our group.

We met many of the cast and crew during our 8 days and I can tell you the are as friendly ( and as crazy) behind the scenes as they are in front. Everyone was amazingly friendly , genuinely friendly, no fake smiles here, I was amazed and basically blown away by them.

BTW loved the shows and the use of their video wall background is great, the way they interact with it, DEF catch the show on the final night but get their early as it fills up fast.

Thanks Carnival, I can see why people make it all the way to platinum.

I hear they have the new unlimited internet package onboard, does anyone know if the cost is just for 1 device or will it cover my phone AND my tablet ?

With the new rollout of the fast internet on various ships and the $99 all you can use plan, has anyone been on the ships that have it and used it?

Carnival rolled out new internet plans on certain sips last month, Sunshine being one , but no one can seem to tell me the details or the cost / speed.

they just say they are individually priced on the ships.

has anyone used the NEW plans yet and what was the cost? im NOT talking about the old per min plans the new ones

ow was your cruise on sunshine? anything you couldn't do without? and how did your mesh network attempt go? anyhow, you always ask good questions...

the cruise was great the mesh network did NOT work, due to the way the wifi nodes are set up on the ship HOWEVER att had a $30 international plan which included unlimited texting and video / picture texting so I just used that

Internet on the ship seems ODD. ODD as I could do a good video stream from my laptop back to our servers with no problems but trying to upload a video file was beyond slow. so I am hoping for faster internet BUT having said that my situation was unique, most cruisers arnt editing and uploading gigabytes of video each day :)

So I just got off the Carnival Sunshine and I was checking out the next cruise, I looked at the Dream class of ships ( bigger) but when i checked the features they seemed to have LESS than the sunshine which is a smaller class ( destiny class??) BUT a lot more cabins. so this says many more people all trying to do the same stuff on board as on the smaller class = longer lines .

Am i missing something here please let me know

ok people, before this gets wayyy out of hand, i MERELY asked IF carnival can code serveral door codes onto one key or not. I diddnt want or need a debate on the whys I want them the ability for my group to get up or not, thats basicaly NOT what I asked,, I ddidnt ask for opinions on the ability of my group to do something I asked about the ability / policy of carnival as it relates to doot keys, thats all.

If I am looking to book when the ship is likely to have the smallest number of cruisers is there a particular week I should be aiming for

Island Marketing will refund your money if the ship does not make it to port.

 

The only advantage to booking through the cruise line is that the ship is supposed to wait for you if you're running late.

 

But, as I mentioned earlier, all the drivers are in contact with each other and will get you to the ship on time. They would not stay in business long by making passengers miss the ship.

actually i read their terms and they DONT refund the deposit BUT will let you keep it to use on another trip for upto a year, since we do at least 2 a year thats ok,

Thanks I see a $20 difference per person between booking the same tour though carnival and booking direct.

are there ANY advantages other ran a refund if you dont get to the port for some reason, for booking though carnival than going direct?

oh its not like im trying to get keys against their will, trust me they want me to have a key., im mearly asking the easyest way to do it

My curiosity has gotten the best of me. Why do you need to get into all five cabins? If I go with a group, I don't want the group leader going through my cabin.

Last time we had issues with 1/2 the group being passed out and not being able to wake them by banging on the door, think younger college crowd. Hated to have to keep hunting down our cabin steward to open a door so I could wake someone passed out so they wouldn't miss a tour or an event.

Next month a group of use are hitting the following places

Day 3 Cozumel, Mexico 10:00 AM 6:00 PM

Day 4 Belize 8:00 AM 6:00 PM

Day 5 Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan 6:30 AM 6:00 PM

Day 6 Costa Maya, Mexico 7:00 AM 2:00 PM

on 3 of these i see ruin tours. We just want to do the ruins on one of the days. which of these places offers the best tours and best ruins? again biased on time we have.
