  1. We’re almost to the point of just staying on the ship….. not interested in walking the blue line, or Stone island or a resort day pass, not into shopping, the city tours don’t sound too exciting either. It seems like that’s about all there is to do in Mazatlan. Is there anything near the cruise port worth seeing if we just want to get off for a short time? Are there any boat tours worth doing? We’re Snorkeling in Cabo, and zip lining in PV.
    Thanks for any suggestions

  2. Hi, I can’t figure out how to search the boards. So, we’re cruising out of LA in February and are looking for a reasonable priced hotel near the port. We’re driving so we also need parking for the duration of the cruise. I know there’s parking at the port ($20 day), but wondering if there’s a better park, stay, and cruise deal. All suggestions/tips appreciated.

  3. Thinking of booking for next year sometime between late January and May for the Caribbean. I’m not very familiar with this class of ship, I know Symphony is new and I’ve heard good things about Oasis. Freedom class is our current favorite, but the itineraries are limited. Pros and cons of either Oasis or Symphony? Best itinerary of either? Best balcony cabin and why?

    Thanks

  4. Hi we want to book a cruise sometime between late January and Late April 2019 to celebrate our 35th Anniversary. We’ve done western Caribbean twice and eastern once, considering southern too. We don’t want anything too port heavy. We’ve cruised on Mariner, Navigator and Liberty, and we like them all. We’re debating on trying a bigger ship, but not sure which one. We want lots of activities and nightlife. I know on the bigger ships you have to reserve shows and dining ahead of time. Our dilemma is should we go with ships we know and like or are the newer, bigger ships worth it? We will book a balcony (ocean view). We would appreciate any reviews, input and suggestions. Pros and cons?

    Thanks

  5. We've been there and unfortunately Falmouth isn't a very nice port. Our cruise in February has been rerouted there due to the hurricanes. I wish it was any other Jamaican port.

  6. We're on the February 24 sailing, we haven't heard from NCL yet but by looking at the port schedules it looks like it will be Falmouth Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Great Stirrup Cay. We're not sure if we want to go to Falmouth again, we may cancel. We're coming from the west coast, if I wanted a western itinerary it would be easier to sail out of Galveston or New Orleans.

  7. We went over July 4th last year (our 2nd cruise to Alaska), we were on the Pearl. Our first trip it was pretty cold, last July it was gorgeous and warm to hot! It's hit and miss as to what weather you will get. I recommend getting up early, breakfast on your balcony or on the buffet deck outside on the back of the ship if it's warm enough (or grab a window seat in the buffet if you can). It's a beautiful trip all the way in to the glaciers, bring binoculars. Get up top early as you near the glaciers, it will get very crowded. The ship stops and spins 360 for about an hour, if you are lucky the glacier might calve. The trip back out is just as awesome. We were fortunate to have weather in the mid 70s, we sat on lounge chairs on the top deck watching the scenery and sea life (whales, seals, mtn goats, eagles). I don't know if we will ever get that lucky on an Alaska cruise again. Have a blast! We did!

  8. CJDepew, what balcony challenges? We are booked in a midship balcony. How was the food and service in the main dining rooms if you used them? Is there enough open space? a lot of complaints were that it felt too closed in. Any tips? Thank you

Thank you everyone, I am one who can really have a good time regardless because I love cruising. There are just so many reviews that lean towards negative that I was becoming concerned.

  9. We're booked on the Epic next February, traveling with friends who picked this cruise because they are going to Disneyworld pre cruise and they are NCL fans. We prefer RCI but have sailed NCL before (Pearl/Alaska). This will be the largest ship we've been on too. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about the Epic, beginning to wonder if we made the right choice. Are there any recent reviews of her sailing out of Port Canaveral?

  10. I wonder if there's a way to find out which configuration we will get? We're in cabin 10188, I'd definitely prefer the sofa near the bathroom. Not a deal breaker, and not like I can do much about it, lol. Just be nice to know.

  11. I believe I saw that the Epic has a 2 level casino that is open to the floors above, it also looked like there was a bar on a level above exposed to this open area. Am I mistaken? Also, does the cigarette smoke travel? On RCI one of my favorite bars is near the casino and on our last cruise the cigarette smoke was worse in the bar then the actual casino. We couldn't enjoy any of the activities, trivia, piano bar because it was so bad.

  12. Thanks, we're booked for next February, may still change ships. The bathroom is not a deal breaker for us as long as everything else on the ship is a win. Just wish we could have the balcony divider open with the cabin next to us, like we did on RCI.
