The 'included' (not 'free') excursions range from pretty good to excellent, with an occasional dog thrown in (rare, IMO).  You can have a listing of all available excursions sent to your email address - we've found that this makes it easier to choose the ones you want.  You can absolutely take more than one excursion in a port - BUT - there's a minimum time window between excursions that you need to meet.  We've done short morning excursions then come back for lunch and done another one in the afternoon.  But honestly, we don't do that too often just because it's a bit too much running for our tastes.  We've found it's usually better to do one longer excursion that hits most of what you want to see.  Not always possible but usually a better option if it is.

So CAN you?  Yes.  Will you WANT to?  Maybe...but probably not.

    Thank you!

  2. We are considering the 2023 Explorer Grand Asia Exploration.  This will be our first experience with Regent, although we are seasoned cruisers. Excursions are included in all ports.   What are your experiences and comments about the cruise line's excursions.  Unlimited shore excursions are shown as part of our fare.  Does this mean we will be able to take as many as time permits in each port?  Thank you.

Can you take as many as you wish in the time your are in each port?

  4. Our group of ten was in Cuba last week. We used Fertours2Havana. Every detail was taken care of for us - our guide spoke perfect English, all transportation was arranged and we saw and did so much in the time we had off our cruise. We had lunch in a paladar, saw a caberet show, rode in the much admired convertibles, etc. All communication with Fernando was promptly answerd. You won't be disappointed!

  5. Pulled into Shanghai yesterday after first visiting Provincial Museum in Wuhan and getting a concert on ancient bells...

Plane (China Eastern) was delayed about an hour fifteen...got to hotel--Shangri La Jing'An after six...great hotel...incredible views of Shanghai (we're on 35th floor...goes up to the 50s)...Buffet was sensational--Sashimi, crab, lamb chops, steak, and on and on and on...dessert table to die for...everyone seemed to grab about half a dozen desserts...full day of touring coming up today and acrobat show tonight...

Steve, thank you for all the information you have been sharing. It sounds like we are in for a great experience in April, 2015. Safe travels home and keep enjoying.

  6. Steve and family,

Sending heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your beloved Mother.

May beautiful memories help you during difficult days ahead.

She will be with you in spirit during your trip to China.
