Wonderful trip!!!!
question: why choose southbound vs northbound?
the dog sledding excursion is my expensive dream!!! I’m debating excursion on cruise or after cruise. I’m worried about bad weather bc it happened to me last time I went to AK so I didn’t get to dog sled
-
thank you everyone!!! I appreciate such quick responses! I will still enjoy the cruise!!!
-
How do I know? I tried to google but came up empty (Room 7367)
Thanks

Other than the butterfly farm, you will need to hire a private taxi for the day because these places are spread out around the island.
Thank you for the info!!

I didn't see a tour on De palma or ABC sites. El Tours offers a fauna tour but only on Saturdays. Any idea how to see these places without renting a car? (Cruise ship in January)
-
Are there any tour groups out there that will take you to all three of these plus maybe Butterfly gardens? I will be on a cruise ship but these sound like awesome places that I would love to visit. I wouldn't want to risk renting a car and driving myself so I need some tour group info please?

you are very welcome!

/i was on her a few weeks ago for Western Caribean trip and had a blast. It is what you make of it - and with a med trip I think the ports of call are most important. The rooms are small, like any cruise, but it is just for showering and sleeping :)
it was very well maintained, clean, beautiful, friendly staff and crew.
I am a bland, picky eater and I ate most nights in Windjammer (buffet) and they had a nice selection of a variety of foods each night. I THINK you can see what is on the menu in the main dining room at the electronic boards near the elevators, but I didn't realize that, but we were happy with Windjammer
glad to see you booked it!

Carnival Pride will be at the port from 8 am - 5 pm. This excursion is not offered through the ship, only through a tour company. The tour says it takes 6 hours, including transportation to and from the port. We do have to tender from the ship.
I personally would not risk it but I am not a gambler

I have a Trip Report going over here, was just on Rhapsody
-
can you share with me your recommendation for a tubing adventure
I used RCCL's ship excursion and had a great time
-
Just off the Rhapsody. Was the pervasive sewer smell as bad as I thought ?? I found that RC has cheapened the cruise experience to new lows. When a crew member says that they pool their money to buy coffee at Walmart when in Tampa, so that they have good coffee in the crew area. Ketchup in McD's containers ??? What are they doing at HQ, going to lunch and collecting packets to then distribute to the ships ????? The tea provided was undrinkable, where did they find that stuff ??? The show on the big TV poolside was funny the first 4 times, but really, a continuous loop ???? Go to Walmart in the 3 dollar bin and buy an assortment of DVD's. The Sports Bar is the foyer to the Shall We Dance club, In A Hallway ???? That was pathetic. NFL Playoffs with a hundred or more customers standing in the foyer trying to catch a glimpse of the small TV. The casino dealers were unusually grumpy and sour. There were 2 stories of the house "cheating" for lack of a better term, or was it, they don't know how to operate a casino. I had a dealer move my bet, move cards and alter the outcome of a hand, That's cheating. I couldn't do what he did. The best time we had was off the ship. We couldn't wait to get home.
I was just on it from January 14-21. I did not smell a pervasive sewer odor on the whole ship - there WAS a smell on one side at deck five stairs but that was it. We just used opposite side and kept going.
I don't drink tea but was happy for the flavored FREE water, it was delicious.
I enjoyed the Schooner bar - not for football but for activities such as trivia. The playoffs were played there, on the BIG pool TV, AND in your room.
I didn't use casino.
I had an awesome trip. Sorry you didn't enjoy it

We did a ship-sponsored cave tubing (I know it is cheaper to go private vendor but I wouldn't enjoy myself b/c I would be worried, and I know their livelihood depends on it but I view it as insurance to get back to ship).
We had a great time - the bus ride was about an hour and the guides were very informative and kept us interested in their talks. The walk through the rainforest was lovely and then the cave tubing was very fun!

Sorry, other places I see PIF all the time. Yes, paid in full
-
i think it is a group booking but I thought they would just cancel the one and book the new lower rate?
-
so on my TA website AND on RCCL website there is a lower price for my cruise and I am not PIF yet.
apparently it is for one deck lower (I dont care about that!!) but the TA said he had to call RCCL because he was having trouble with it.
RCCL website says sale for only ten more hours. (saving $109 per person)
is this common? is the TA not wanting to lower my price? he said he would get to it later - I am a little frustrated.
Any advice??
-
hmmmm - maybe i will bring a little bit of my own stuff after all. goop doesn't sound too good.
-
At a minimum, two bars of soap and a combo shampoo/conditioner in the shower.
awesome! Thanks!!
-
I've heard conflicting things on this subject. I don't care if they are crummy shampoo and soap I was just wondering if anyone knows if they definitely have them so I don't have to bring them?
-
thanks guys! I'll definitely check out those links :)
-
ah ok. I'll keep trying.
Thank you all
-
thanks guys!!

so two people in one room, we want to do different excursions. How does booking them work? I didn't want to start the process without knowing how it works. Does one person pay for all with one card? is it each person's card?
thanks a heap

Did you book directly with the Cruise line or with a TA, if with a TA he/she may have you under a Group booking and you will need to ask for your individual Booking # We are under a group booking for our July 2017 cruise, however we each received our own booking # on our Invoice so was able to register.
oh thank you so much! I AM under a group booking number so I will ask for individual one now. You are my hero!!! :)
