After logging into Carnival's Website go to Manage My Booking > Booking and Order Details > View Balance Details > View Cancel Information. Clicking that will let you know if there are any penalties and there is an option to Cancel. I don't know what is past that point since I didn't want to cancel my own.

We were on the Magic 4/5 to 4/12. We didn't have FTTF and it didn't bother me to not have it the whole cruise. We didn't arrive at the dock until around 1:00. The line of people to check in was just outside the door in Galveston, but we still got through it pretty quickly I thought. Since we arrived later the cabins were ready. We had one tender port, but we didn't have an early excursion so we hopped on the first one available when we were ready.
We never used guest services.
When the cruise was over, we were provided a pretty high disembark number (21). We hung around the casino when one of the crew came buy and told us to go ahead and leave even though they had only called numbers up to 10.
If I cruise again, I won't buy it next time either.

Carnival's website says you can still go with a driver's license provided the trip starts and ends in the USA. If going to Martinique a passport is required if you are going ashore. There's some other comments in their recommendations as well in their "Know Before You Go" section. It's a good read.
