  1. We spent 2 weeks with him on PG. We are not divers but still had a great time. Every evening in the Lounge, at the back of the ship they would show videos from the days dive. Very entertaining. He would then dance with every women on board before retiring and still get up the next day to dive. He also circulated to different tables every evening for dinner.

  2. We have had our Nexus Cards for 5 years now. The only time we use the Cards is to clear through the Nexus Kiosks at YYZ, all other times we use the GE Machines with our Passports, when entering the US from anywhere in the world. Over the last 5 years I can not count how many hours it has saved us from standing in the Immigration or TSA lines.

The only place we have had problems with Nexus/GE has been at Pier 2 in Ft Lauderdale. That is because as most people have said there are no Kiosks. The last 2 times we have disembarked and tried to use the Nexus/GE line the Princess Agent has refused anyone from using it saying it was closed. We asked the Border Agent and he said the Princess Agents just can't get it through there heads that this is a new procedure. Some do most don't then he laughed and sent us on our way.

Both Nexus and GE are offering more new entry privileges, in Mexico, Panama and I just received an invitation from Great Britain that I am eligible to apply for their pre clear entry program.

  3. Make sure your Wife's reservation has her Nexus Card number on it otherwise the Boarding Pass will not have the Pre cleared notation.

I had the same problem until I realized what was wrong.

A bit off topic here but if you have NEXUS and are travelling in Canada you can use the priority lane at domestic security screening also, not just customs and not like TSE Pre where it is hit and miss sometimes, I have had the TSE on my ticket and my wife on the same reservation has not for some reason. For 55 bucks a year, even if I only travel by plance once a year it is a no brainer.
  4. Just too many problems with Immigration and port staff. Immigration screwed everybody up when they sent 1 officer to clear a 3600 passenger ship. Lots of missed flights and connections. Boarding was a nightmare. Some people waited 8 hours before they could board. The port staff would not take luggage unless they were tipped in advance. Then they wanted to leave before everyone was boarded because they did not want to work over time. Cabs were scarce. Had to wait for long periods and then they only wanted to go to the airport. You had to wait until one would take you to a hotel or else where.

That was just on the ship I was on there were 4 others in port that day. I heard form others as well as princess staff that that wold be the last year they sailed out of PR.

  5. Keep a close eye. I have had to call them on 4 different occasions. They keep claiming they are not receiving them even tough I have a confirmation telling me which of their Fax machines received it. They always received it within minutes of my phone calls. If it is not processed with in a week be prepared to re-fax but no before you call them and tell them it is coming.

  6. Unless they have changed something in the last while San Fransisco is the worst port I have ever had to use. You have to wait outside on the side walk, no shelter and no where to sit, until disembarkation is completed and they are ready to receive you. Then you have to walk through the warehouse loading area with the trucks, to get to the processing area. LA and Vancouver are 2 of the best ports for embarkation and disembarkation.

    Eyeing Hawaii next spring...

Any difference in anyone opinion embarking in Vancouver, Los Angeles or San Francisco apart from different embarkation cities?

I'm leaning towards the Star Princess in April from San Fran.

Also, waters...better in April than March?

    Thanks!!!

  7. Ask for them when you arrive. They take them all out to be cleaned and sometimes they don't bring them back unless you ask. Make sure you ask for two.

We've only managed to cruise twice so far. Both times we checked the box saying we'd like robes in our room. We didn't get them either time. I checked the boxes again for our upcoming cruise but don't really expect to find the robes there.
