I just finished reading "The Cowboy and the Cossack" by Clair Huffaker which is newly available as it has been out of print. The Tartar incidents made be yearn for some Steak Tartare and I hope it is still available on Princess?

Sure! We enjoy (as well as with many other Most Traveled Passengers) completing repetitive back-to-back voyagers (avoiding conflicts with the dreaded Passenger Vessel Services Act https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passenger_Vessel_Services_Act_of_1886 )!

;p;p;p With the upcoming ATSC3.0 all things will be even better with broadcast tv (and I suppose will also work on future cruises?)" https://www.cnet.com/news/atsc-3-0-the-future-of-free-antenna-tv-is-coming-eventually/
Broadcast TV will know what you're watching
One of 3.0's more controversial features is a "return data path," which is a way for the station you're watching to know you're watching. Not only does this allow more accurate count for who's watching what shows, but it creates the opportunity for every marketer's dream: targeted advertising.
Ads specific to your viewing habits, income level and even ethnicity (presumed by your neighborhood, for example) could get slotted in by your local station. This is something brand-new for broadcast TV. Today, over-the-air broadcasts are pretty much the only way to watch television that doesn't track your viewing habits. Sure, the return data path could also allow "alternative audio tracks and interactive elements," but it's the targeted ads and tracking many observers are worried about.
The finer details are all still being worked out, but here's the thing: if your TV is connected to the internet, it's already tracking you. Pretty much every app, streaming service, smart TV and cable or satellite box all track your usage to a greater or lesser extent."

My wife always uses her travel scoot https://www.travelscoot.com which has been all over the world and she can even load it into our Nissan Quest with no trouble! Grand Princess has wide passenger corridors but most other ships have narrow ones and are a nuisance when room stewards have their service carts in the halls! Her travel scoot even folds flat and fits in a duffle bag along with the non spillable air line approved battery. Also she has NO trouble boarding on it!Our experiences on a few cruises, for what it's worth -1. we reserve a HC accessible cabin (I realize it's too late for you to do that)
2. I rent a heavy duty scooter from specialneedsatsea that is waiting in the cabin. I use wheelchair assistance to get onboard and have never had an issue. I've seen people weighing significantly more than your husband being pushed on board in wheelchairs.
3. My cabinmate brings her personal scooter and just drives it right up the ramp and onboard. She's never had an issue.
Good luck!

:ship:Interesting that you are an expert on Chicago pizza as you say you come from Chicago. My favorite was http://www.theoriginaljohns.com/history.html John's Italian sausage pizza from John's in Calumet City that we found has relocated to Munster when we returned to The Calumet Region a few years ago! I frequented the Pizza oven on Lido many times for lunch on the cruises and found Princess was liberal with anchovies, etc. on those select although not Chicago deep dish pizzas!
We were also on this cruise with you as it was the final of our three week booking (made The Most Traveled Passenger luncheon on the last two segments!). I enjoyed "A Christmas Story" on that big screen by the pool and via the On Demand tv movies in our state room (we were entertained by the wide variety of on demand movies, etc. entertainment on that huge screen in our stateroom)! My wife and I grew up in Hammond and I always chuckle at the Jean Shepherd treatment of Goldblatts Department Store in Hammond!
We had not cruised on the new Regal and found all the seating choices and open area venues to our liking. We mostly use Grand Princess and her wide passenger aisles are more convenient to maneuvering handicap vehicles!
We liked the Bistro and Horizon Court food layout to be similar to what we enjoy on Cunard QMII! The elevator access and restroom availability to the Traditional Dining Room to be quite an improvement over some other Princess designs (along with the elimination of annoying steps in the dining areas)! You indicate you have sailed Royal Caribbean and we very much prefer the wide selection of delicious (i.e. chocolate) cookies provided by Princess as opposed to those awful (gluten free) served by Royal Caribbean. We had the same wait staff in the Traditional Dining room for the three weeks and they quickly adapted to our serving (left/right hand) and beverage preferences, even remembering what we had ordered on previous weeks (although we had no occasion to be served a finger bowl as on some previous cruises). We also enjoyed a meal in the Crown Grill which we had never tried on prior cruises (although I found that skim milk really does not work in coffee - It was an error quickly remedied).
We had an interior handicap stateroom and found that large video screen on the wall next to the foot of the bed to be a bit inconvenient. Also the handicap stateroom had no tissue dispenser and we had to request a tissue box from the steward. Also, strange arrangement of those high elevated glass shelves in the handicap bathroom is stupid!
We enjoyed the hors d'oeuvre in the Captain Circle receptions as these were not served on our recent Alaska cruise on Grand Princess.
We used that new luggage handling service for a fee that provides a boarding pass and direct transfer of two bags to the air line without any contact until receiving at the final terminal! I had also used the Mobile Passport app for Port Everglades and we did not even have to show our passports to immigration, just scanned the QR bar-codes!:ship:

We are on the Regal in Falmouth docked next to the Allure and marvel at all those miniscule domes on it compared to the massive ones fitted on the Ocean technology!🤣

The original Sky had a nice forward observation area but we disliked the fact that laundry service had to use passenger elevators for dirty laundry transport! Terrible designed!

We were pleased that the show was about 45 minutes (those 30 minutes ones are not worth the effort), but I chose a poor seat near handicap area as we encountered water dripping from the ceiling (air conditioner?)! An attendant roped the seats out of use!

:ship: I dump lots of some of their hot sauce in the soups prior to them filling up the bowl! Delicious! :ship:

Looks to not be comparable on QMIi or our High Tea with Regent in Dubai at the Burj al Arab!We did it a few times. It was well worth the money. They have standard tea as well in one of the dining rooms. Nice, but not as nice!Sent from my SM-T710 using Forums mobile app

I love gjetost but have never seen it on a cruise ship nor restaurant. Can’t find it in any supermarket near me. I order it from Amazon.
For those unfamiliar with it, it’s a dark brown goat cheese so rich you slice it into paper thin pieces.
:evilsmile:I had been missing it from our Local Walmart but discovered Kroger has been carrying it all along!

Never seen it on Princess... But they don't carry Velveeta either.
:eek:Perhaps
https://cheese.com/limburger/ then? -
:*My favorite is
http://www.norseland.ca/en/products/ski-queen and just wondering if Princess serves this awesome cheese?:* -
So is it true that even if you do not have a medallion equiped cabin that platinum/elite get unlimited internet? If so, then I will bring my Amazon Echo so that I can keep entertained![emoji6]

Probably a stupid question but how do you find out the dock number of the pier?
You have to input the info within four hours before you dock or after?
:ship:I fear I may have misspoke, I think it is only the pier that you have to tell the app!:ship:
-
:ship:Did any of all you all or notice anybody using the Mobile Passport app (
https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2551957)?:ship: -
(yn)It is a bit tricky to capture a passport! That bottom info on the passport has to align with the blue stripe, you have to know the dock number of the pier, and has to be within the 4 hours!(yn)

:ship: Just wondering about your experience with the Mobile Passport app (
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.mobilepassport&hl=en https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobile-passport-officially-authorized-by-cbp/id907024887?mt=8)?:ship: -
:halo:I tried all of the different menu items they had on our Cunard QM2 crossing a year ago! I think their bubble and squeak was the best!:halo:

The only restaurant I remember giving us finger bowls is Swiss Chalet (chicken restaurant in Canada).
I can't imagine getting one on a cruise. It begs the question - Why are you eating with your fingers? Are you unable to use a fork?
:confused:http://bfy.tw/CXXt
-
I have never seen a finger bowl on any cruise that I have been on since I took my first cruise in the mid 1970's.
BUT I think they would be a great idea to have in the public wash rooms for those who don't want to wash their hands. At least their dirty little fingers would be some what clean. :)
:eek:Bidet?
-
I admit, your title made me click just to find out what a finger bow is. Envisioning a ribbon tied around a finger.
Typo but no way to add the missing piece![emoji49]

We had them on the Grand Princess last month. The waiter brought them after the cracked crab.
;)That must be when we had them, and we are looking forward to our upcoming 57th anniversary (during the eclipse) on the Grand! Thanks for sharing!
Wondering if Steak Tartare is still be served in the Elite lounge?
in Princess Cruises

Yes, change their definition and include that it stems from the gourmet practice of those Mongol/Tartar warriors who subsisted on daily draining blood from their mounts and marinating meat under their saddles (for steak tartare)!
