  1. Sorry. Didn't mean to scare anybody. I can assure you that even though it is swaying a little we are nowhere near the boat of being able to capsize. This boats aft is way too fat 😉 The swaying is not ruining our trip in any way. We were in the navigator in 2013 and it was about the same so I was just surprised by it on the allure. I find that taking bonine at night is best. Also it is super easy and free to get on level 2 by the gangway at the medical office. I popped in there before our yacht trip yesterday in st. Marteen and got some. That stuff seems to work faster and not make me as tired. Honestly it was more of a joke. Do not worry about your future trips. 😊 I have yet to actually get super sea sick. I'm just trying to stay ahead of it. Also deck 14 sundeck has not been open anytime I've tried to go out there. Seat saving on the upper decks by the pool seems almost non existent. Although crowded we can always find 2 to 3 chairs. Again, I've been pleasantly surprised by mdr food and service. As far as the dress we have gone more casual on this cruise. Even on formal nights 😨 and guess what.....Nobody cares....at all. All you do is walk to your table and sit down.

  2. I'm on the boat now. It has been swaying back and forth like crazy for days. We are having some propulsion problem. We were 3.5 hours late in St. Thomas. None of this has ruined a great trip and I feel like Royal showed some real class by giving room credits. We got a credit totaling $200. $100 per room for 2 rooms with 2 people each. I know they do not have to do that. Trip has been great. I think mdr food has been better than I've had in a long time on a ship. Windjammer....not so much. Beautiful ship and fun ship. I just wish I wasn't living on dramamine.

  3. If you are ship cell tower you wil get charged, ship towers are shutoff while in port. I have tmobile and have dealt with this the past year. You can login to your tmobile account and change your settings for data roaming in where it will only allow you to use data from their international partners. Cruise ships cells are not a partner.

Okay. Thanks for this info. I always like to take a bunch of pictures of all of us and text them before we leave. 😁

  4. I have Tmobile and was told it would be $5.99 per min to make calls on RCL. .50 for outgoing text and free for incoming. Something else I thought was interesting but I'm not sure if the customer service rep had the right information. My daughter and I both have Samsung S4s. Apparantly the way that droids send messages is that if I sent a group message to 10 different people, I might be charged .50 for each single message. This was the first I heard of this but I figure I'll go in assuming that is the case and be surprised if it is not.

Question also. So you are charged the minute you get on the ship for data even before you leave the port? I assumed it would be my normal charges until we left.

    Thanks,

  5. On our last cruise we had late dining around 8 or so. With hungry kids we found that we enjoyed ordering up appetizers and snacks to the room around 5 or 6. We knew if we went to get pizza or went to the windjammer we were hungry enough that we would stuff ourselves. We ordered different things for the kids but my youngest loves her healthier food and really liked the ceasar salads. I forget on the older one but I imagine we found her something. For my husband and I we would order the cheese platter and the spinach artichoke dip and would enjoy those with a glass or two of wine a couple of hours before dinner, usually while the others were getting ready. Other than that we typically like to leave the room to eat but I think this next time we might order up breakfast to the kids room and ours when we have early shore days.

  6. Yes, the ferry to Cruz Bay and taxi to a STJ beach will add another 1.5 - 2 hrs of travel time compared to just taxiing to an East End STT beach like Sapphire. The ferry departs on the hour between Red Hook and Cruz so wait times aren't bad normally.

It's a nice ride to Red Hook and a nice ferry ride to Cruz so not a waste of time by any means. Just for folks with short port days or who want the most beach or snorkel time the East End beaches are also beautiful.

We have fro 10-7 in port so I'm not sure if that is considered short. We are docked in Crown Bay on the Allure. Due to that we had booked the ferry ride that the boat offers but unfortuately it doesn't leave until after 11 a.m. and says it gives us approx 3 hours beach time before we return to the ferry. With 10 and 13 year old girls I'm kind of wondering if it would just be better to head to sapphire for the day.

    Thanks,

    Debbie
