Due to life circumstances, this will be my first solo cruise. From what I have read, there seems to be a distinct difference between a singles or solo cruise. I can't really say it will be all that solo due to organizing and bringing along 23+ family and friends, but I couldn't think of a better place to have a fun time with everybody due to the variations in ages, activity levels, and things they like to do. So why not a cruise? I will personally try some of the single events that are done by RCCL and get a good feel as to weather or not the solo cruising thing is for me. Wish me luck.

Going on the RCCL Explorer 5 Mar 2013 as a group. We have several solo/single travelers and were wondering if anybody had any plans other than the ship sponcered events?

Shimmershine,
I do not think your post was too long. I will be traveling on my 8th cruise and this one will be the first time as a solo cruiser. I like both RCCL and HAL but enjoy the RCCL Suites a little more. As far as the solo aspect, I will be checking RCCL this cruise. To my knowledge, there are a couple of mix and mingle events that RCCL puts on the first couple of days and then from that point on, it is up to the pasanger to keep up the contacts. I will be traveling with a group of about 20 that I organized so if the solo thing dosn't work out, I will still have plenty to do.
