  1. Greetings fellow cruisers, and a happy summer cruising season to you.

Clarification please: Friends are trying to book a Celebrity cruise but have hit a snag. They will be travelling with their two underaged children in the same cabin. Celebrity says if they get the drinks package for the adults, they must also buy the drinks package for the children in the cabin travelling with them. Is this correct? It seems odd to me that Celebrity would require minors to buy "drinks package" Please advise. I know more than one of you have come across this issue.

  2. With reference to the Escape during a 10 day caribbean cruise last month: The only meal that was consistently good was breakfast at the Garden Cafe. Most MDR meals were bad to very bad and in some cases inedible. Beef was comercial grade at best. Specialty restaurants were hit and miss but definitely not worth the added charges. O’She…..  bar was good. The wings and sandwiches were very good. Service was very good at all venues. Staff tried very hard to please but the kitchen fell short. Seems that NCL has had to make difficult choices on the food quality to survive the pandemic. In my opinion it will backfire. Have one more NCL booked to redeem my future cruise coupons but after that, will try other cruise lines to compare service and food choices.

I was SO very proud of myself when i bought my NCL stock when it dove down to $33. As we speak it is at $21.52!  Well heck....

Don't beat you're self up, you have lots of company.

Yesterday at less than ten bucks was really a steal. Stock up.

    Cheers.

  4. Hello Fellow Cruisers, hope this finds you well.

Here in Miami there is a lot less traffic now. All hotels are supposed to be closed, the Florida Keys: Closed, and several cruise ships resting at port. Only essential businesses are open, and most restaurants, if open, only have take out or delivery.

Hospitals seem to be handling the rush ok, hope that does not change for the worse. Lots of drive by testing stations have opened up, but they have long wait times. One private hospital in Hialeah does not have long testing wait times, but inexplicably is charging customers $150 for the test. I though insurance companies agreed to cover all test costs.

My wife and I have managed to stay put in our home for the last couple of weeks, not much change from our regular routines with the exception of granddaughter's duties and visits.

We managed to cancel a May Alaskan cruise. It was good of NCL to let us reschedule even though they kept our deposit, no big deal for us, but I wish they would consider giving back the money to those that are loosing their incomes.

We keep busy around the house, there is always plenty to do or learn.

Neighbors are keeping an eye on each other for any needs someone may have. A closed knit neighborhood feels even closer now.

Our prayers for those in all those hot spots such as NY, and Italy, and looking forward to when this all behind us.

    Cheers.

  5. If you happen to notice, where's the yacht club embarkation tent vs the parking garage. We're driving down, and I'm trying to determine if I should try and drop off the fam and then go park while they wait or is the tent near the garage and we can park then walk over with our luggage?

Definitely drop bags first, else drag them for almost one block to tent.

    Cheers.
