Does anyone know if the Jewel got away as scheduled at midday?

We are one of the affected for the Melb 3 nighter, we have been told 1 night refund and $50 obc per adult. To turn up on friday instead with same boarding times.
2 nights cruising is better than not cruising at all.

hi all,
Cruising to Hong Kong next year on the Legend OTS. I have been struggling to find good and interesting things to do whilst in the following ports that are value for money.
Kota Kinabalu Malaysia.
Puerto Princesa, Philippines.
Manila, Philippines.
Has anyone been to these ports and if so what did you do? Ships tours or private? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
Mick

Cruising April 20 2016 Legend of the Seas Brisbane to Hong Kong.
Can't wait.

She'll be doing the Asia area at that time, we get off her in May 2016 in Hong Kong. I've had a look, there are cruises available during that time on the RCI website.

No I will only be doing the Legend turnaround on the 16th Oct. and I will only be doing Royal & Celebrity pretty much through the summer ( I am supposed to be retired:D:D)
I'll try to give you a wave as we board on the 16th. Is there much difference to the embarkation process between Carnival and RCI? And how will the reno's affect the process?

I use a Nikon COOLPIX AW120 underwater Camera, waterproof to 18m. Takes excellent stills and video. Took this to our first cruise to Hawaii, and got some fantastic photos and videos.
Take a visit to a local camera shop and ask them to explain all the feature of the different cameras and their prices, work out your budget and get the best one for you.

I have had it confirmed by a passenger who is currently on the Legend sailing to Australia that each stateroom has 1 Aussie power point.

We did the package for our 2013 cruise in April to Hawaii. This was an 18 night cruise. We actually prepaid for the package before we embarked on the cruise. By doing this it was paid for well in advance of the cruise, and therefore not a “surprise” on the end of cruise account. Just to give you an idea I paid roughly $1800 for the 2 of us.
Also by partaking in the package there is no surprise on the account in regard to the amount of drinks you have had during the cruise.
Was it worth it you ask, well… for us it was. We found the convenience of the package was good, tips are included in the package, so no need to worry about extra tipping should you wish too. (note: 15% gratuity is already added to your drinks bill anyways) and as stated no “surprise”.
The way I looked at the package and if I would get value out of it was this. On an average “at sea day” and depending on your drinking habits (DW and I are not big drinkers) but being on holiday, we could (and most days did) have a cocktail before lunch, maybe a beer/wine/drink or 2 during lunch, in the afternoon by the pool enjoy a drink or 2 or 3 (come now we are on holidays). Then dinner time, again beer/wine/drinks (generally 2 or 3). And finally of course, evening times, whatever drinks take your fancy. So would we get $55(package cost at the time) worth of drinks a day? If you look at it the way we did, I would say YES. This also includes premixed soft drinks from the bars, so throw in a few of them as well during the day it all adds up. But we paced ourselves so that we were never staggering around or had hangovers the next day.
Also, if there is a drink you always wanted to try, but never thought to do so due to wasting it or buying it and not liking it, this is the time to experiment without the guilt part as you have already paid for it in the package.
Some people obviously go crazy because it is “unlimited” and try to get plastered every night and by day 4 are suffering for it, and then don’t want to drink anymore, so they stop and waste the package.
On port days you obviously won’t drink as much, but that does get offset by sea days, and on this cruise there are more sea days than port days.
Are we going to get the package again, you bet ya! It is one less thing to worry about at the end of the cruise.
Sorry if this is a bit long winded, but I thought it would be good for you to get a perspective from someone who has had the package. I am happy to answer any questions regarding this.

Thanks for that everyone who replied. I had never heard of them before, and have not seen them in Oz.

I have to ask this as it has been bugging me since my first cruise..... What are scrambled egg beaters on the room service menu, compared to just scrambled eggs?
-
Thanks for the reply everyone. Does anyone know how much they are on RCL?
From memory it was about $8.95 for a pk of 8. Had to do the emergency run to the general store for the DW on our first cruise, she swears by the stuff now.

There should be no real problem with noise from above as there is another whole deck of cabins above them on deck 10. Deck 11 is where the pools windjammer etc is.

Got back this morning. Was a tad rough in Bass Straight especially on friday night, was overcast pretty well the whole trip, although the sun did poke its nose out at times yesterday afternoon.
The ship seemed in good order. First time on a P&O cruise, was pleasantly surprised. Clean and well looked after for an older ship. There wasn't a lot of people on board and some of those had spent some time in their cabins due to the sea conditions. It was a comedy cruise and well, the comedians IMO were so/so.
But overall happy, would have like the extra night, but it didn't spoil our short cruise.
