  1. We initially got a family balcony, port side 7 cabins from the back of the ship (Escape) on deck 9. Subsequently I paid an extra $400 to buy a GTY mini-suite which gave us no perks, similar to a Sailaway Balcony.  We were assigned a family mini-suite, starboard deck 9 midship. I felt it was worth it for the slightly larger balcony and definitely larger shower. Some family mini-suites have tub/shower combos, but I'm not sure whether ours has one or not. If ours does, it'll be a plus as my wife really enjoys taking a bath.

  3. I have a question regarding upgrade bids.

If a person receives an upgrade acceptance, are they entitled to that cabin's embarkation process in terms of priority boarding and waiting areas prior to boarding ?

  4. It may be worthwhile to try contacting whoever runs the drydock to find out when they knew the ship would be arriving.

If the docks are unionized, a little research might get affected passengers a contact person at the union that would probably be very cooperative answering any questions about the ships scheduled arrival. They usually need a heads up to make sure the dock is properly staffed for incoming vessels.

  5. I would recommend contacting your credit card issuer and tell them you are disputing the charges and tell them you want a refund of the entire charge you were billed by NCL.

Most credit card issuers like Citi or Chase will give you a temporary credit to your account. They may send you forms to fill out to explain the circumstances surrounding your dispute.

The issuer will contact NCL to let them know that you are disputing the charge and ask for an explanation and a credit for the cost of the cruise.

I have disputed charges from retailers in the past but never a cruise line.. All of my disputes were resolved in my favor.

Also contact local media outlets, make a stink on NCL's facebook page, and let everyone know on Instagram what's going on.

All of this is worth it given the circumstances. The last thing NCL wants is a public outcry !

    Good Luck !!
