  1. We are going on a group cruise next year and booked a drinker in a room with kids so he could get Cheers. Once on board and after Cheers is purchased can his wife get her S & S card changed to his room without purchasing Cheers or does it have to be a room key only? She will be switching with one of the children. It is a key only then will her S and S account show up on their television or can she set up her account with husbands?

I've searched the forum and some say extra room key only and some say official change. She isn't too keen on 2 keys but if it saves her buying Cheers she will do it. Hoping to hear from people who've actually done it.

I hope this makes sense. Thanks 😃

  2. This statement just adds to those who are looking to save a buck by not tipping.

Two, this statement then would suggest customers at medium or fine dining restaurants should not tip since servers already makes soo much money.

Third, if you own the restaurant, you have the ability to make it a non tipping establishment.

I just found in interesting that here in Canada servers get minimum wage and not a reduced wage like in some states. I was not at all eluding to people tipping less in restaurants or on the ship.

I am happy that the staff make good money, therefor would never make it a non-tipping establishment. They are happy to come to work and that rubs off on the customer.

  3. There were no BBQ ribs on the menu on our cruise, but we were on a 4 night, so maybe on a different menu on a longer cruise. We did have teriyaki pork ribs one night. I didn't really like them. The glaze was real sweet, not really like teriyaki sauce and the ribs just had a lot of fat, not much actual meat. I ordered French fries as a side, but I could have had garlic mashed potatoes or a baked potato.

There were BBQ ribs on the 7 night menus. Not on elegant night anymore which was nice to see.

  4. There are 4 states in America where all servers must make at laest minimum wage, and then earn tips on that. They can make a pretty penny. Surprised more states don't goi after that, but obviously, it makels the menu prices substantially higher.

That is true, our Canadian menu prices are definitely higher than in the US.

  5. I sailed on the Liberty last month and I would say that I enjoyed the new menus overall. On Elegant night though the menu seemed really limited. It does say that items "from the grill" are available but I didn't feel like asking what they were. The shared apps were very good. I enjoyed the flatbread and the calamari was only the rings which I prefer to the tentacles and it was served with 2 dips. I intend on doing a photo review of the new menus soon.

  6. Thinking of booking the Liberty for Christmas week and thinking of booking cabin 1064 on Panaroma deck. I am worried about noise from the pool deck, and slide. Anyone have any experience with this deck and cabins near the slide?

We had 1058 on Freedom and didn't hear any noise from the slides or Lido. The only noise complaint I had were balcony doors slamming but that would be the same on any deck. I will always book on Lido or Panorama from now on. It was so convenient to the Lido deck and to the elevators to the promenade and dining room.

  7. I just booked a future cruise on Spendor last week at the Past Guest rate(not ES) and received a $100 OBC. Has anyone had experience making a change of a future cruise booked onboard and did the $100 OBC get moved to the new booking? I was told it would.

I booked a cruise on the Glory while on Liberty in October. When I got home I decided to go back on Liberty instead. I had no problem switching the reservation and keeping the $100 OBC.

  8. I think you'll really like him. Very efficient. He knew what we wanted to drink and our names after just one night of waiting on us. His team is good too. On top of that he has a good section. Some of the sections have the tables squished so close together you might as well all be sitting at the same table.

How do you pronounce Ketut? I'll ask for him on my cruise in 2weeks. Thanks :)
