  1. We’re going to Hawaii in the beginning of 2023 and we normally travel on those other rival lines.  We will be 2 couples and we’re curious about the tempo of 15 days on a Carnival cruise that long.  We don’t expect many kids if any at all. We’re also expecting a mature crowd with less rowdiness (hopefully), but we are looking to have fun.  Can anyone that has gone on the Miracle to Hawaii give a feel for their experience?  We’re really looking forward to having fun and having fun things to do on sea days.

  2. I also purchased our 6 test package and decided since I'm a tad bit more tech savvy than my DH, I'll take mine first and afterwards open his new account and assist him with his test.  Hopefully all goes well, but things may change by time we are required to use them in November. Should have waited to purchase but I was afraid they would run out or be delayed. I had no idea of shelf life problem or extension.

Ours ended up being in southern Canada.  Local wasn't a HUGE deal for me, but I did like the idea of being able to possibly meet with them in person.  The biggest thing for me was "Responsive and capable".  I've heard the stories of people here who need to reach their TA for a price drop or something, and they can't get ahold of them.

Yes, I've heard the same about not being able to get in contact with your agent but decided to try a agent to lower my stress level.  Well I'll never use another, on our upcoming family cruise in November 2021, there was a price drop and I couldn't reach my agent, well my pressure went through the roof!  The cruise line won't even talk to you or send you a updated version of your own paperwork regarding said cruise.  I need some control, we have another planned for February  2022 and that is without a agent and I'm now stress free!  A bottle of wine and possibility a speciality dinner isn't worth it.

  4. Hi there! We also have recently booked the Silhouette for Feb. 14, 2022. We were originally on the Constellation this Christmas but it's cancelled and then rebooked on the Edge for Feb. 14, 2022. Again they cancelled and now we're on the Silhouette like everyone else here. This is also our first Celebrity cruise and I'm very excited since we also have a rear facing cabin.  How does the Royal Crown and Anchor points work, I don't think they match up but I'd be very happy if they did. I've joined the Captains Club if that's a thing, not sure. We are scheduled to cruise on Royal next Thanksgiving but I'm more excited for the Celebrity cruise since it is totally new to us.  Future planning seems to be a good pandemic stress reliever so thank you for those responding to questions or sharing your experiences.

  5. It would be helpful for us all to post reviews on our particular stateroom on the applicable ship. I'm sure others beside myself look for reviews to determine whether or not that stateroom is going to suit our needs. It also helps to advise of noise or anything unpleasant in that location. Some cruisers post and I appreciate their time and consideration of informing others, but more of us should do so.

Just a suggestion to help all of us pick the ideal location.

  6. Congrats on your wedding! My experience is hit or miss with pre-ordering your deco pkg. for your cabin. I've done it several times over the years for my kids and my parents. Only twice did they have the deco up in the room when we arrived, so it depends on your room attendant and if they have time to put deco up while getting rooms ready for the new cruisers. Twice I was disappointed and said I wouldn't do it again, I could have brought my own deco from Dollar Tree and installed myself, due to theirs being so flimsy and cheap.

There is a separate company that supplies the deco to the ship. So I haven't purchased any more.

What I have done lately is order the trays of wine and cheese or kids cake and candy tray and been more satisfied. So you might want to consider ordering a nice bottle of wine or champagne with a platter. They have always been in the cabin upon our arrival, and that never disappoints. I always order it for our cabin now to make me feel good and get the party started. Lol

With the kids I liked the deco to help distinguish the cabin doors since they all look the same and my kids always had their own cabin near mine. But it became easier to bring something small from home to put on the door and it did just as well. (Unless someone plays games and removes it) Remember the doors and cabin walls are magnetized and RC doesn't like tape being used if you can help it, but I've used a little and removed it before we departed.

I don't have any experience with the My time Dining yet or the Flow Rider (like to watch) so unable to answer those questions, sorry.

    Enjoy your cruise and Honeymoon!

  7. Killtheump, I'm going on neither. I will be on the Jewel and I also was questioning whether it was only on the newer ships. The informational did not specify any ship, as if it would be fleet wide. It was not on Royals web site but CC.

So after posting I decided to call and get it from the horse itself and the RCCL agent stated she was unaware of that happening at this time for any of the ships. Although she did confirm Dynamic Dining on the Quantum. She also stated that CC often finds out about new features coming before the agents are notified.

So, I take that to mean it is so new or only rumors that the agents are unaware of it at this time. I guess only time will tell.

  8. If this has been covered earlier I apologize, but on the CC RCCL page it states that:

"Passengers can now pre-book tables in the main dining room online before they cruise."

How does this work? Are they supplying a table layout now for our shopping leisure. That would give me more fun time when boarding instead of running to see where we are seated and making changes. Is it working, has anyone done it to their satisfaction?

Also how would this work with the new "Dynamic Dining" being implemented? Starting to get a little complicated, I like simple and stress free. I'm okay with pre-booking my table in advance but I'm getting worked up over this Dynamic Dining and changing dining rooms every night.

We last cruised last year, but I was not aware of this so it must be fairly new. We will be cruising again next year and I'm trying to stay current as time goes by.

    I appreciate any info...

  9. Stay away from Spirit if you can!! They should be put out of business, too many extras to pay for. ( Didn't know this before purchasing tickets) Soon they will charge for using the lavatory! I'd rather take a bus and that's really bad since I hate buses also.

Sorry for not answering your question, but seeing "Spirit Airlines" hit a nerve!!!

  10. Makes you wonder though, I thought it was pretty good and booked for the Jewel in Feb. of 2016 especially since sales ends today 5/31. Well, I called this morning to inquire about my booking and was informed that the BOGO sale was extended until 7/15/2014. I only found out due to my asking about friends who are under pressure to book today, what a surprise! Agent claims they were just informed today of extension for another 6 weeks, so I asked about pricing and she said they can raise them at any time. So I'm curious to see pricing tomorrow even with the continuation of the BOGO sale. SMH, who knew....

  11. I have booked a Midship balcony cabin on Liberty of the Seas. I have never had a midship cabin. I am very close/directly behind the elevators. Is this a problem. Is there usually excessive noise or traffic?

I was on the Liberty last week (3/13-19) on deck 8 in room 8642 and our friends in 8644, which is right around from the elevators and the internet station. There were no problems, whenever someone saw us go into our rooms they commented on the close proximity to the elevators. No noise and no unusual traffic, only people passing by to go down the corridor to their rooms. Our room Steward was "Clement" from Jamaica, and he was fantastic, quick and thorough. We were sailing during Spring break so elevators were slow at times because of the kids but not a problem. The hump balcony was wonderful, with a beautiful view front and back. I loved this room and its location.

I hope this helps, and enjoy your cruise.
