  1. My 12 & 17 year old daughters met new friends during the 1st day of visiting the kids clubs. After that day, they never went back, just hung around the ships in their groups. They would go back occasionally, but teen groups win out at everything.

I'm not saying Carnival doesn't provide a good product for the teens, but I know that my kids would rather do hangout together with their friends all over the ship.

  2. Ive found the cruise lanyard a bit harder to come by now. On the breeze in November, you had to be at a machine or had to show proof that you were playing in the casino. They swiped the cards to check. This was the first time I had experienced this.

I also got playing cards at the Guest Services Platinum window in November. I was told in April on the Slendor that I had to pay for then now.

Can anybody weigh in on these past tips.

Just came off the Splendor last week.

The Casino Cashier area will hole punch and give you a casino card coils for your sign and sail card. The Coil comes with a plastic swivel leash hook at one end and a split ring at the other end. The coil attaches to your belt loop, great for those who swipe their cash cards through readers. Snaps onto belt loop. Expands to card reader then retracts to starting position.

As for the playing cards, we lost my 2 year old sons sign and sail card and went to guest services to get a new one. While we were waiting, the crew member was playing with him and gave him a deck of cards. I don’t know if they are still free, but I didn’t pay for them.

    Have a good time!

    :)

  3. Their was 5 of us in an inside room (1 year old son slept with us). They didn't put the beds up during the day, we were only in there to change and sleep.

I didn't mind sleeping under the bunks, I hit my head twice, but got the hang of it quickly. I'm 6' 1 and I was cool with the setup.

  4. I just saw post from someone onboard who said they estimate arrival at the port at 11:30am.

They probably won't allow us to go to the port until at least 1:30-2pm. We are waiting on a 10:30am update from Carnival to see when the port will open for today' cruise.

My main man, JWJAX! Have fun cruising, I'm still looking at the 7 day again in May 2014!

    :)

  5. I love your attitude.

In general, for the price one pays....by my cost of living standards they're basically "giving it away".

There are things about other lines that are better....but, not "better enough" to warrant the difference in price.

I have my theories about "the chronic complainers".....but I'll keep those to myself.

BTW...NYC in January is "almost like summer" in Canada!:)

I enjoy your attitude also! I too will be on the Splendor in January and look forward to sailing her out of NY. As long as I can walk away from the cruise, I'm good.

  6. I will be taking my son with us on our first cruise in May. As for the shower, he's taken "Big Boy" showers with me holding him, done it since he was a few days old. I say try that.

As for the swimming pools, I understand he won't be able to get in on the ship. That's why we plan on doing the beaches on port days.

Lastly, it's all up to you in having your child with you during a cruise. I'm very big into "family" times and would never postpone something because my child is not of age. even tho things may sound more "difficult", I've never regretted doing something together with my child.

I'm a father of 3 (17, 11 and 15 months) and have many great memmories.

    :)
