  1. Now, that's what I call a great pre-cruise itinerary!

    Norris,

We are looking forward to our first trip to Venice and Rome. This will be our first TA. I enjoy reading your in depth reviews especially your review of Alaska. I was on the Star at the end of June from Whittier to Vancouver. I did a diy 5 day land tour before cruising. Alaska is so beautiful, I can't to go back. Looking forward to the rest of your review. Getting to board for out flight to Venice via Newark.

  2. How difficult is it to drive from the port to Florence, Pisa and back to the port? I will be visiting this area on Sunday, Oct. 9th. I was thinking about renting a car and sightseeing on my own. The cost is a few more dollars then taking a bus tour, but having the extra might be nice. How hard is it to find parking in these towns? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I have a question for you experience Oceania cruisers. I could not find an answer to my question on the web site. I could be looking for it in the wrong spot. Which free shore excursions are you allowed to take? I was looking at the possibility of doing a Mediterranean or a Baltic cruise next summer. Thanking you in advance for your help.

  4. I was on this cruise also. Yes, the first night was a little rough sleeping. Only one time I thought I was going to fall out of bed. The waves were only 15-20 feet that night. lol. I slept well and after the first full sea day, I was able to use my balcony. Yes, I even got me a little sun tan. As food is very subjective, I thought the food in the horizon court was lacking taste and selection. I usually cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. The food in the main dining room was very good. Our service was excellent. This was only my sixth cruise with princess. I have come to accept certain situations like the theater is going to get crowded every night, so I just get there about 40 minutes early. It is my vacation and I tend to look at things positively. Its not partly cloudy but its partly sunny etc. I used princess shore excursion in Cabo doing the whale watching by zodiac. A excellent choice as the crew was great. I booked the excursion on line and saved $20 per person. I am spending the night at Best Western and flying out in the morning to Atlanta, then a short three hour drive home. Overall, I enjoyed the cruise and would even do this cruise again in the future.

  5. [Yes - there could be regional discounts (certain states) and also targeted discounts (where Princess directly markets to certain individuals).

I have had a situation where the 2 of us in the same house hold come up with different prices. Of course if we both booked, it would be at the lower price for both.]

Just so happens they live in the same town. I guess I better check for both people living in the same house before I book the next cruise. Just seems a little strange to have different rates for people in the same house. Princess claims promotions go by Captain Circle numbers.

  6. It is possible to have different promotions for people in the same loyalty category? I ran into a situation this morning, where two people in the same loyalty category (Ruby) are showing two different prices for rooms next to one another. When I called princess, they same it is possible to have different prices in the same circle level. Has anyone else ran into this situation?
