Hi Julia. We are in Blackfoot. Our scheduled Hawaii cruise on Princess is on the new Discovery. Do you have any experience on these Royal ships?
Princess is great but the Royal ships have a couple issues - too many people and there is no promenade. 😒

Princess has a good product and I'm sure you will enjoy the cruise. I find the newer ships too large and sadly they have no promenade so I will pass on them. I like to walk the promenade and truly feel I am on the ocean.
Also, for Alaska, they can't do the inside passage - they have to go around the outside of the island.
Beautiful ships though.

For those waiting for their refund. I cancelled the cruise on Sept. 17th and the deposit was put on my credit card Oct 1. Slow but not too bad.
We didn't want to be on the Royal for Alaska but I hope those of you who are going have a wonderful trip.

Would it work if you purchase $500.00US today and then in a few days purchase another $500.00US. Just a thought since it is all done by computer and likely functions on one transaction at a time.

Good Grief!!! What could go wrong?? - everything - Renew the passport - so simple.

Enjoy the day and thank you from sunny Calgary

My favourite ship is the Coral - great layout, size and the wonderful full promenade.
Least favourite - Island after the messy refit, Royal and Regal are too big and have no promenade.

Larger balconies on the newer ships. We would love to cruise on one of the newer ships. However, we spend a great amount of time on our balcony and hate the idea of such a cramped space. Love the Caribe balconies on the Grand Class ships.
Agree, plus. PLEASE bring back the full promenade - such a shame on the new ships. It is hard to feel the wonderful essence of being on the ocean when there is no promenade.
I would also like to enjoy a no-smoking casino. Even on a non-smoking night, it is hard to breathe in the casino.

Me and my frind are BOTH first time cruisers with Princess if you want to recommend us .. we would all gain 😀😀😀😀
I would have gladly done a "refer friend" for you and your friend but the details say you must be in the US or Canada.
Sorry.:o

New Video! Here's what the cruise port area is like at Amber Cove! Last video from this port! Hope you enjoy!
Thanks, Scott. The port looks like it is an amazing area to explore and so clean! I love the full promenade on the Eurodam - that is the one thing I don't like about the new Princess ships (Royal, Regal, Majestic), they don't have a promenade.

Thank you for sharing your video.
We are on the Crown in Sept for the Northern TransAtlantic so it is quite enjoyable for me to see bits and pieces of this ship through your eyes.

Time to explore Ensenada, Mexico! Here's video Day 2 Part 1. Hope you enjoy! :)Sent from my iPhone using Forums

If you click on the deck plans of the Crown on the Princess website, it asks if you are sailing before or after April 8, 2017. So maybe something is happening in April.

Boarding the Island Princess tomorrow for Panama Canal transit from Ft Lauderdale to Los Angeles. We have one of the new aft facing cabins (B741) and will post pictures and updates as we go. If therevare any questions I will try and answer if possible.
Thats great, thank you.
We are on the Island Princess Dec 20-Jan 4 - Panama Canal, Los Angeles to Ft L.
Looking forward to your reports.

But the cabins in question are in a single row down the center, so they are all neither starboard nor port. The question is on which side of the cabins are the doors. Do all the odd number cabins have the doors open into the starboard hallway, with the even numbers opening into the port hallway?
Yes.

There is a promenade deck on deck 5 but it doesn't go all the way around the ship.
The only place you can walk all the way around is the deck just above the pool (I think it's deck 14)
What a shame. Thank you for letting me know.

We are thinking of taking this ship on a transatlantic. Could anyone tell me if it has promenade deck that you can walk around?
Thanks, Judith

Hello Dave, Thank you very much for your photos and information. We are sailing a B2B Jan 26 - Feb 9 and your information about the turnover day was most helpful. Have a safe trip home and thanks again - Judith
Koningsdam Covid Isolation Cabins
in Holland America Line
Posted
I just got off on Jan 31 and I think if you have covid you are isolating in your own cabin. Lot of coughing on the ship.
