    Different time zones?

That was my thought too but we're all from the same small area.  Then I thought maybe their phones are set up differently, but we compared someone who has the same cell provider as I do but still with a different check in date.  It's just weird.

  2. Hey everyone, I searched for this issue but there wasn't much help out there.  We have a group cruising on the Grandeur on May 11lth this year and if you do the math, check-in is on 3/27 which is what my app says.  Others in our group show 3/26 as their check-in date and we can't figure out why or if they'll really be able to check in early.  I know this won't impact much but if they check in before everyone else, it could affect the available boarding times.

Is this just a glitch or do we actually have different check-in dates?

Also, we are all in the same time zone and it was on multiple apps, both android and iPhone.

Hey neighbor, thanks for the info! While I don’t drink it specifically, my neighbor does with her light rum, but only because they don’t have diet sprite anymore. I’ll send her the info so she can check it out before being stuck with it on a cruise!

    Hey neighbor!

I thought I had read that Carnival extended the cheers package for all that had purchased.

The letter read "Anyone who purchased a beverage package may have their package extended at the pre-cruise price by visiting any one of our bars".  So yeah, it was extended for $54+ on your account. 🙂

  5. Hey, I was on this cruise with you.  What a miserable sea day we had.  Right behind the storm and that boat was a-rockin!

I agree, even though it's not Carnival's fault, they could have offered something for the inconvenience.  As one who paid for their internet, once they offered it to everyone, my service was seriously degraded and not what I would have liked.  I also had the Cheers package and it would have been nice to be offered either discounted drinks or add a day to the package.  The only thing "given" to everyone was a free bingo game offering a free cruise.

I was fortunate in that I drove to the port and had the extra day off work so there were no costs incurred as a result of the delay but it was not expected and a major inconvenience to most passengers.  Yes, I know the weather cannot be controlled.  Yes, I know you have to expect things like this occasionally.  What matters is how it's handled by the company and in my opinion, they could have done more.

  6. From Norwegian today:

EU Healthy Gateways Ends Pre-Cruise Testing Requirements

For sailings beginning August 1, 2022, vaccinated guests sailing on a cruise originating from any port EXCEPT a U.S. port; Canadian port; or Piraeus, Greece are exempt from all pre-cruise COVID-19 testing requirements.

We'll still have to test in the US but at least they're starting to let up in some areas.

  7. Norwegian just dropped the testing requirement beginning August 1st.  Hopefully other lines will follow.

Scratch that.  The official statement reads:

EU Healthy Gateways Ends Pre-Cruise Testing Requirements

For sailings beginning August 1, 2022, vaccinated guests sailing on a cruise originating from any port EXCEPT a U.S. port; Canadian port; or Piraeus, Greece are exempt from all pre-cruise COVID-19 testing requirements.

So it looks like us in the US are still stuck with testing.

    Jacksonville, Florida or Jacksonville, Alabama?

Florida.   Lynyrd Skynyrd bandmates were all classmates at Lee High School in the 70's and they named the band after their gym teacher I believe, Leonard Skinner.  They also used to practice in a place called "hell house" located in Green Cove Springs where I live now.  There's a lot of their history in this area and several of the family members still live around here.

  9. We are a group of 8 that have all purchased the drink package but we also have a favorite shot that we drink at our local bar. We will bringing those ingredients with us in the Rum Runners and I don’t feel bad about it.

We’re paying for the package already and we want to be able to celebrate on our balcony with a shot.

  10. this sounds wonderful for several single ladies. But ... we are arriving 1:30 Jan 30th. Carnival Victory. Are those bars open later on Sat? Does the excursion run that late in Jan?

We were on the Victory with that same arrival time last year and they were able to accommodate us. There were others visiting the island and a few from our ship so the later hop worked out for us. Since yours is in January, I would email since it gets dark earlier but Tom will answer any questions you have.
