Just remember that an emergency on your part does not make one on the US Embassy.  US Embassy and Consulates are closed on US federal holidays and on that country's holidays.  In order to get you credentials to get back in the country, they have to get permission from the State Department in Washington DC.  They don't act fast!

We leave next Saturday , there was no time for her to get a passport.The3 cruise is a last minute trip. Thank you for all your info.

  2. We will be cruising on the Horizon in June. This cruise is to celebrate my grandsons graduation.

He has been on 2 cruises and has loved them, he has always made friends and had a lot to do. Now that he is 18, he is worried that there will be nothing for him to do.are there  special things for that age group?

    Thank you

  3. Son and daughter-in-law going on their 1st. cruise alone. They have a question I can't answer. With the Cheers program if you some how drink all 15 drinks can you purchase more?

Also they say water, sodas energy drinks, special coffee, etc. are also included, but is this part of your 15 drinks?

    thanks for any info.

  4. We also stayed there and walked to the port, no problems. We ended up doing a lot of walking that trip because the weather was pleasant, and we also did a hop on hop off bus tour to get a lay of the land and see some sights. The hotel is your standard Embassy Suites with the manager's reception in the evening, and nice breakfast in the morning.

    Enjoy your cruise. :)

Thank you for your response, I think we are going to try the streetcar. Also I read about a tastebuds tour that we might try.

  5. I have booked 2 nights before our cruise in December at the Embassy Suites Convention center.Would like any input you might have on the hotel. The reviews are so, so.

I did get a pretty good rate with Expedia.

Anyone know how the rooms are? I was told by the hotel that it is within walking distance to the port, has anyone done this?

    Thank you

  6. We stayed at the Embassy Suites near the Convention Center, and walked to the pier.

I know this is a older post, but wanted to know what you thought of the Embassy Suites, We have reservations for 2 rooms for 2 nights in December, before our cruise. Alot of the reviews are not so good. I got a rate of 89.00 per night, 2 room king suite. Also how was the walk to the pier? There will be 4 adults and a 15 and 7 year old. All input would be great.

  7. We will be cruising out of NOLA this December.
