  1. Hi,

I booked a cruise with a well known online travel agent back in May. I paid the deposit and then tried to apply a future cruise discount voucher to the booking and the TA told me that they could not do this and I would need to cancel my cruise and rebook directly with ROyal Caribbean. I called Royal Caribbean and they told me the best thing to do would be to have the TA transfer the booking over to them. They told me the price, cabin everything would stay the same as I had an existing reservation.

When Royal Caribbean sent me my booking details they have added just over $400 to the booking. I have sent them my original invoice showing the price I booked at but they keep telling me their records show the new price which they now have my reservation at.

Does anyone know if the cruise line can up the price when bookings are transferred to them?

  2. We are on voyager now and they didn't confiscate my powerboats.

When I boarded Rhapsody in November the men collecting bags at OPT asked if we had Powerboards in our bags. I was able to tell them that I didn't as I understand the risk to all on board with using powerboards etc. and I am quite happy with using a travel adapter with usb points to charge things for the four people in our cabin. I did have to go to the security desk when we docked back in Sydney though to pick up a Wooden Fijian decorative weapon and the amount of powerboards, irons, clothes steamers and even skateboards waiting to be collected was amazing! I just don't get why people keep insisting on sneaking powerboards on to ships when they know they shouldn't do it.....just because you get away with it does not make it right.

  3. I bought the equivalent of bonine from fishpond dot com dot au... They are called "rugby travel sickness tablets" and came in a bottle of 100 and cost $28.40 incl delivery. They are the same ingredient as bonine, ie.meclizine.

I tracked the order and they came from the USA.

We used them on our recent cruise and they worked.

I bought Bonine (rugby) from Fishpond for my recent cruise on Rhapsody. I have used Avomine & stemital in the past amd found that Bonine works so much better for me so I'm one happy customer!

  4. So annoyed! Just checked the prices on the rooms next door to us for my daughter and the prices have gone up! I thought we had until 28 February to get the sale price? It seems about $700 dearer per cabin. I really want her in the same deck as us, and preferably not too far away.

    Now I am faced with a dilemma....

    A

The prices have risen again. I booked a Grand Suite on Rhapsody in January which is now $700 pp dearer than when I booked it.

  5. It is my understanding that you only lose your deposit in Aus if you are within 5 months of sailing. So you might have to wait for your deposit refund, and book the new cruise and pay another deposit up front for it?

I am guessing here. I am pretty sure you can't upgrade your current booking, as you say, it is for new bookings.

Yes, I think you are right. I am waiting for my deposit to be refunded and paid another deposit today for the new booking. There were no fees from my travel agent to do this but on my last cruise I had to make similar changes and there was a cost involved from the travel agent side.....

  6. I gave up a corner aft junior Suite so someone will be able to snag a great cabin with my decision to change :) The only reason I did it is because there will be four of us, my sister, son (14) daughter (22) and myself. I wanted the extra space inside the cabin that a grand suite offers so that we can fit a rollaway bed. I was looking forward to the great balcony the corner aft cabin has but of well you can't have everything :).

  7. I had a junior suite booked for a cruise on Rhapsody in November when I saw the prices change on the 31 Dec I called my booking agent and told them I would now like to change my booking to a grand suite. They cancelled my cruise and I rebooked. I ended up getting a grand suite and saved $450 on the price I was paying for my cruise.
