It was the other thread that finally tipped us over the edge to book.
That and deposit of $20.
Is the $20 deposit part of a sale that is on now?

There are four of us booked into a Grand a Suite. It was not part of a group booking.

The TA transferred my deposit to Royal Caribbean.

It is the same booking number. I never cancelled so it was not rebooked. The existing reservation was transferred.

Hi,
I booked a cruise with a well known online travel agent back in May. I paid the deposit and then tried to apply a future cruise discount voucher to the booking and the TA told me that they could not do this and I would need to cancel my cruise and rebook directly with ROyal Caribbean. I called Royal Caribbean and they told me the best thing to do would be to have the TA transfer the booking over to them. They told me the price, cabin everything would stay the same as I had an existing reservation.
When Royal Caribbean sent me my booking details they have added just over $400 to the booking. I have sent them my original invoice showing the price I booked at but they keep telling me their records show the new price which they now have my reservation at.
Does anyone know if the cruise line can up the price when bookings are transferred to them?

I would love to come along and meet everyone but will be in Sydney on the weekend of the 14/15. I can do any other weekend though.

We are on voyager now and they didn't confiscate my powerboats.

When I boarded Rhapsody in November the men collecting bags at OPT asked if we had Powerboards in our bags. I was able to tell them that I didn't as I understand the risk to all on board with using powerboards etc. and I am quite happy with using a travel adapter with usb points to charge things for the four people in our cabin. I did have to go to the security desk when we docked back in Sydney though to pick up a Wooden Fijian decorative weapon and the amount of powerboards, irons, clothes steamers and even skateboards waiting to be collected was amazing! I just don't get why people keep insisting on sneaking powerboards on to ships when they know they shouldn't do it.....just because you get away with it does not make it right.

I bought the equivalent of bonine from fishpond dot com dot au... They are called "rugby travel sickness tablets" and came in a bottle of 100 and cost $28.40 incl delivery. They are the same ingredient as bonine, ie.meclizine.
I tracked the order and they came from the USA.
We used them on our recent cruise and they worked.

I bought Bonine (rugby) from Fishpond for my recent cruise on Rhapsody. I have used Avomine & stemital in the past amd found that Bonine works so much better for me so I'm one happy customer!

Sorry, I realise there threads with the answer to this question but I am running out of time to look. I leave tomorrow on Rhapsody of the Seas and need to know if I need local currency for Noumea and Vanuatu.
Thanks in advance :)

I am going to try these sheets which are available from Woolworths.

I would like to buy a drinks package on my next cruise and wanted to check to see if its possible to get an unopened beer to take back to my cabin? I want to put in the fridge for when I feel like a beer but don't want to trek to the bar :)

I stayed in JS 1576 last year and heard no noise from above.

My sister has caught the bus to Sydney from Canberra on cruise day before with no problems.

So annoyed! Just checked the prices on the rooms next door to us for my daughter and the prices have gone up! I thought we had until 28 February to get the sale price? It seems about $700 dearer per cabin. I really want her in the same deck as us, and preferably not too far away.
Now I am faced with a dilemma....
A
The prices have risen again. I booked a Grand Suite on Rhapsody in January which is now $700 pp dearer than when I booked it.

I think they expired on the 31st of December.

Did you change travel agents? Or have they changed their charging policy.
I changed travel agents :)

It is my understanding that you only lose your deposit in Aus if you are within 5 months of sailing. So you might have to wait for your deposit refund, and book the new cruise and pay another deposit up front for it?
I am guessing here. I am pretty sure you can't upgrade your current booking, as you say, it is for new bookings.
Yes, I think you are right. I am waiting for my deposit to be refunded and paid another deposit today for the new booking. There were no fees from my travel agent to do this but on my last cruise I had to make similar changes and there was a cost involved from the travel agent side.....

Technically I canceled and rebooked before the Sale started on 1 Jan so I am not sure if they would have let me do the same thing during the actual sale.

I gave up a corner aft junior Suite so someone will be able to snag a great cabin with my decision to change :) The only reason I did it is because there will be four of us, my sister, son (14) daughter (22) and myself. I wanted the extra space inside the cabin that a grand suite offers so that we can fit a rollaway bed. I was looking forward to the great balcony the corner aft cabin has but of well you can't have everything :).

I just used the Medicare card number in the passport field.

I had a junior suite booked for a cruise on Rhapsody in November when I saw the prices change on the 31 Dec I called my booking agent and told them I would now like to change my booking to a grand suite. They cancelled my cruise and I rebooked. I ended up getting a grand suite and saved $450 on the price I was paying for my cruise.

Powerboards and extension leads are on their prohibited list according to the FAQ's section on their website.

When it says in it can not be combined with other certificates does this mean I can not use it if I booked my cruise with a next cruise certificate?
Changing booking from TA back to RCI.

I have done it. My TA contacted RCI who gave her a form Whicj I had to sign and then my booking was transferred. I will look back through my emails to see if I can find the exact name of the form.
