We just booked this cruise today! My husband, 3 kids, my mom and I will be sailing. We’re super excited to take the kids on their first cruise. 🙂

371 days until my 9 night Southeast Coast & Bahamas cruise on the Grandeur. :'):loudcry:

I also have images of almost everything onboard, just ask.
I would love to see your images if you are still willing to share! Just booked a December 2018 cruise on Grandeur, so I'll be spending the next year in anticipation :)

I am a horrible Canadian being that I hate hockey and cannot skate but the rest of the fam went roller skating. Below is video of bambi on wheels... :)
Thanks for the review and all of the pictures! Was the line for skating as long as the bumper cars?

I hope you don't mind me threadjacking. But we are leaving out Sunday (2nd) for Jamaica, Grand Caymans, and Mexico. I'm not so much worried about the ship, but the shore excursions I've booked. I (of course) didn't buy insurance. If we have to go to a different port, or skip a port, will I get a refund for those excursions or will it be money lost? I am sailing on Splendor. Im going to try to call Carnival when they open, but thought I'd ask and see if anyone here knows. Thanks!
Generally if you booked the excursion through carnival, you'll be refunded for any missed ports. If the port day changes, typically you'll keep the excursion and go on the new day. If the tour operator can't accommodate the change, you'll be refunded.
If you booked excursions on your own, then it's up to whoever you booked it through, but you're probably out of luck.

Down to 17 days! :D:D:D:D

All caught up now! Great read as always Kim. That resort and island look awesome (except for the Asian place). :) Leaving on the Sunshine tomorrow, so I'll have to catch up again when we get back.
I'll on the Sunshine from NYC on Oct 1 - maybe I'll catch one of your awesome reviews before I leave? :D

68 days until Bermuda on the Sunshine! :D
-
Looking forward to reading your review. We'll be on the Sunshine for the first time in August!
I hope to see another Jamman review! It was great reading your reviews before I went on the Splendor and Liberty. I'll be going on the Sunshine in October and it would be awesome to read a review of yours before then! :D :D

Thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to more. I'm going to be on the Sunshine with my dad in October!

October 23rd from Norfolk, Va? We will be on that cruise.
I'll be on the Oct 1 sailing from New York. We'll just miss each other!

Thanks for the great review! I love when people post lots of ship pictures. I'm going on the Sunshine in October to Bermuda and it looks like a lovely ship!
we ended up with a lot more at sea time that was blamed on a medical emergency (it was an emergency but the crew was aware in the previous port that the person was too unwell to board but let him anyway.
How would you even know this if it was the case? It sounds like gossip/speculation to me. If Carnival gave out any information other than the standard vague "medical emergency" it would be a major privacy violation on their part. -
My fiance and I are both 25 and we had a great time cruising in November and January, during the times people say there aren't young people on the ships. While the crowd did skew towards the older side, there were plenty of people our age around. I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time!

Such an awesome review so far! Looking forward to the rest! We are doing this itinerary in June on the Liberty and we are so excited! We are New Zealanders (living in Australia) so we have been trying to learn as much as we can about cruising 😄

Which sailing will you be on? We're going in June on the liberty as well! :-)

Way back on my very first Bermuda cruise, they stopped at a couple different ports on the island, but it was kind of silly. The island is so small and very easy to get around. A lot of people on the cruise complained about being required to get back on the ship only to go an incredibly short distance. I imagine passengers have much more flexibility in seeing the island with the overnight stay.

Wow! How did you get the itineraries for 40+ years from now?! I'm still waiting on bated breath for the end of 2016-2017 Vista sailings!

Ohhhhh. See I thought she meant the cemetery. I'm from New Orleans so cemetery visiting isn't weird to me, I've even had school trio's to them lol and I was curious why she didn't want to go. :p
Gotcha - I've heard the cemetery is actually an amazing place to visit and it's easy to see if you're already visiting the forts. Here's a map that shows you the area she was talking about.

I don't know anything about the area. Is it the cemetery or a city?
It's a neighborhood in San Juan near the cemetery. It has a bad reputation of being a rough area. Though I've heard it's mostly a problem at night, it's probably best to steer clear.

Glad to hear that the drinks are good at the Sheraton! That's where we'll be staying pre-cruise.

Super excited for this review! My future husband and I will be spending 5 days in OSJ before our Southern Caribbean cruise on the Liberty for our honeymoon in June. Can't wait to see how you enjoyed PR and the itinerary!

I came here just to check if you had started your review yet! Thrilled to read it as I’ll be on Venezia at the end of November.
