I don’t think any flights will be flying in to Orlando on Wednesday. I’m waiting to move my airfare to see if RC will change the itinerary again

I am thinking there will not be any flights to Ft. Lauderdale either and that is where they will be flying to from San Juan.   They were looking forward to their honeymoon.    We went on many when he was a child and was looking forward to take his bride on one.  I keep telling him its better it happened now and not when he was at sea

My son is getting married tomorrow and I purchased a cruise for them leaving out of Miami. Paid in full months ago. They received an email below from the cruise line.....from the looks at it they are telling my son that his four day cruise is shortening to 1 day. Leave Miami late Wed....stop at one port thursday....return back to miami Fri. His only option is to receive a credit for a future cruise. NO REFUNDS? The problem is it was his honeymoon and the money for it is in the cruise. I purchased the insurance. After reading that it appears that it doesn't refund our money either. How can they drastically change a cruise by knocking off 2 days and not give the guests refunds? If this is in fact true and we have no recourse this will certainly be the last cruise for anyone in our family with Royal Carribean. I certainly realize that a hurricane can happen but not offering refunds for something like this is beyond me.....

    Any suggestions?

    • A refund, which will be added to your Onboard Account as a refundable onboard credit. Plus, a Future Cruise Credit so that you can come back and sail with us.
      • Both amounts will be in the value of the 2 days your cruise was shortened by, and based on the total cruise fare paid, per person, non-inclusive of taxes and fees.
    • In addition, if you purchased an internet, beverage, unlimited dining package, or pre-paid your gratuities, you’ll receive a prorated refund as a credit for the 2 days your cruise was shortened by to your Onboard Account.
    • Any pre-purchased Royal Caribbean International shore excursions for the impacted ports will also be refunded to your Onboard Account.

All credits applied to your Onboard Account can be used anywhere onboard, and any unused credits will be refunded back to your credit card on file about 3 – 5 business days after the sailing ends.

While we hope you choose to sail with us, if you decide not to sail, we’ll provide you with:

    • A 100% Future Cruise Credit of your cruise fare paid, in hopes you’ll join us on another cruise vacation in the near future. You can expect to receive your Future Cruise Credit by email by Friday, September 20th, 2019.
    • You’ll also receive a full refund for any pre-purchased items like, shore excursions, beverage packages, pre-paid gratuities, and your taxes & fees. If you booked a non-refundable fare, fees will be waived.

My son was going on his honeymoon this Sunday, the 1st as well on the Allure.  They shortened it to leave on Wednesday now instead.   Although it appears to me that leaving Sunday would be better than Wednesday.  Fortunately, they are able to go somewhere until Wednesday, but my fear is RCCL will cancel Wednesday as well and then they shortened their honeymoon and wasted airfare to fly to FLL only for the cruise to be cancelled.  I am praying if they decide to do this, they do it soon and not at the last minute

  3. A group of 10 of us booked James Tours a few weeks ago. I have done many tours at various islands and this was absolutely the best. We were able to get a "feel" of their culture. The hot springs and mud bath left our skin feeling soft and shiny. He gives his own personal touch and the luncheon with a breathtaking view was incredible. He tailors the tour to what you want to do and see. We wanted to be sure we had time to shop back at the pier and wasn't sure we would have time. All we did wad tell him and he got us back in plenty of time and still showed us everything we wanted. I highly recommend James.

  4. Then we entered our room, OMG OMG OMG THAT ROOM!!!!!!!

Well to be fair the room was ok, but that BALCONY!!!!!!

Remember folks, do your research and you will be compensated. I had been calling out this room back in december and I can remember all those discussions… But in the end, this balcony was much better than I expected it to be. Actually it is wider than the room itself as it takes a little of the suites space. Trust me that suite can spare the space :D.

So anyway back to the story, when we entered the room we saw a bunch of goodies waiting for us.

I believe they gave one book per room, one day there was a lady in the hot tub complaining that in her room of 3 people all with different last names and they were only given one book. She told us that they got into an argument with their cabin steward over it. I wont comment on what I think about this…

The coins, don't ask me why they gave them. They had no markings whatsoever of anything related to Breakaway or NCL for that matter and when I asked about them, I was told they were good for nothing, lol.

But the book, OMG, it is soooooo nice! Thank you NCL :). I know the TA did not get it, I am very grateful we did. Maybe the books were brought onboard in NY?

There was also this little bag,

    what was your cabin number?
  5. I am currently onboard the Breakaway - waiting for the christening ceremony to take place from my "assigned viewing location" outside Sheehan's :)

I have so much to tell you already! Now if I can just get these photos to load! I grabbed the Splash Academy Bermuda pages for ALL ages so when I get back on Friday I have some scanning to do.

So we arrive to the terminal at 10:30 after a little bit of traffic and there she is

Squidward and the gang are a little wet today

We immediately head to the spa to make sure we have a warm, dry place to relax ($29 per day)

We then grab our dining and entertainment at the electronic touch screens on the wall by the elevators. Sad to say - by 11:45 am many of our specialty dining choices are already gone.

We were able to grab Cagney's and laCucina. And Rock of Ages (not family friendly - more on that later).

More to come - the christening is about to start.....

Does the spa waterfall have force like the Gems or is it gentle

  6. Very interesting and informative thread, thank you for all the good ideas. Keep them coming.

On our last cruise 2 weeks ago, I saw op the open sun deck someone had these es 2 very nifty hard plastic clips holding down their towels on either side of the top part of the deck chair ..it makes that your towel does not crawl down behind your back while laying in the sun in an upwards position. It will also keep your towel in the upwards position when you get up to go somewhere. It can even be used on the balcony to keep sun hats etc from being blown away. The clips were in the shape of a crocodile's mouth holding the towel in position.

It was so neat, I have never seen it being sold anywhere. That is something I am now looking for, for my deck chair for our next cruise.

I found flamingis and dolphins at Walmart for $1. They were called Boca Clips.

  7. Someone brings up that post every month or so, gets old after awhile for sure. The restaurant and pool bar have been closed at the Sapphire Beach condo resort for some time due to management and condo assn issues. So this is not a full-service resort property. There is a dive center with restrooms that are maintained pretty well as compared to other beaches we've been to. As Sunny said during the course of the day they can become "used" and there isn't a full-time cleaning person to pick up after you. But the restrooms are nicer than most.

If someone is looking for a full-service resort and sparkling restrooms all day with an attendant taking tops they may want to consider the Ritz down the road but I don't believe they offer day passes. But for normal folks there's nothing to worry about so enjoy your day on a beautiful bay!

This is good to hear. I have always enjoyed going there. Since Godfrey wont stop there, we will try Sunny.

  8. Another thing I should add is that I'll be taking this cruise with someone I have a long distance relationship with for the past 7 months. Basically, this cruise will determine if we will take our relationship to the next level. He's from Holland and I am hoping that we will enjoy each other's company on the ship. Otherwise, he will be swimming back home on the Atlantic Ocean.. (I'm planning on getting a balcony room :p )

Then you should definitely do the gem. You can go in the hot tubs in the evening for some privacy. Carnival closes them at 10. Its like comparing a Days Inn to the Marriott
