  1. As a vegetarian, I had excellent food in Blu on Constellation in February.  Ask for the vegetarian menu.  It is from the main dining room and was additionally provided to me each night.  I usually ordered the clean vegetarian option from the Blu menu, but it was nice to have the options.  Also, don’t miss the excellent vegetarian and vegan options in Oceanview at lunch.  Enjoy!

You should also see the new booking online already, mine showed there right away and it was just the shifting of the perks and cost that was WIP.

Yes, you are correct. The new booking is there and the costs, perks still need to be sorted. Thanks!

Got my new reservation email this morning (called on Friday) and everything 'shifted' just as advertised and as the agent promised on the phone.  All perks protected, OBC for booking on board, OBC for NRD, Beverage Package, and total price now back to the same as it was for 2021 booking and it shows my deposit coming off.

Very pleased and well done Celebrity!!!!

Thank you for this information. Based on your post, I am not worried about our switch I did an hour ago and the agent saying it could take two weeks to receive an updated reservation. I did try to do fake bookings and see our old cabin available and our new cabin not available, so I trust all will be sorted in time. We also booked directly with Celebrity.

  4. March 15 Eclipse cancelled March 14 when we were in San Antonio, Chile. Requested refund on March 16.  Received refund of move up accepted offer on April 25.  Received cruise fare, port fees, taxes and shore excursions today.  We booked with Flights by Celebrity for the first time.  They were great getting us home.  Hoping for refund of the airfare also, but will wait for 3 weeks before emailing.  The way I understand it, your reservation gets passed to different groups to process the refunds.

  5. Tami,

We were on the Summit last week. We had a 1:15pm flight home.  We disembarked at 8:30am, found our luggage, went through customs (facial recognition), got a Lyft to EWR, and were at check in at 9:12am. We were even able to take a 10:30am flight home.  I would wait to switch your flight until you have a better idea of when you will arrive. The Summit really is beautiful now, as is Bermuda.  Have a safe journey home. Good luck.

  6. Does anyone have any experience or advice about visiting the Penguin Aquarium? It looks like a fun adventure. How long to get there and back? How much time is realistic to spend there? We love penguins and think this would be a unique experience.

  7. Last year I got bumped, too. They offered several different dates to choose if I wanted to move to another sailing. I chose a sailing on Equinox around the same date. I kept the same cabin cost as well as all the promotions as my original booking and they gave me additional obc. All in all I made out pretty good except I preferred the Summit itinerary.

If they charter Summit March 16, 2019 and I get bumped, someone else will get my favorite cabin 6145. Yeah, that's also the cabin I had booked for 2018!

What a coincidence, we have 6145 booked for the 2nd half of our b2b! If we aren’t chartered, I guess we won’t be moving to that cabin for the Mar 16 sailing. I’ll have to hope the people who have our first cabin booked for the second week cancel. Lol.

  8. I noticed this over the weekend and was a little worried. I have been booked for quite a while on the March 16th sailing. I was thinking it was being chartered but was confused because the penthouses show as available.

I'm preparing myself in the likelihood I get bumped.

Booked on the 16th also, along with the 23rd. We are also preparing ourselves to be bumped, but hoping we won’t.

  9. We did the “on your own” excursion with Celebrity last March in Ho Chi Minh City and it was great. All the historical sites in the city are walking distance from each other and we had an Eyewitness Travel Guide to assist us. We were dropped off by Saigon Tower and pick up was by the same location. We had plenty of time to see all we wanted to see at a leisurely pace along with lunch and a drink. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

  10. Brazil is the only SA country that requires visas for US residents (Venezuela may, but no one is going there). The Brazilian visa process may be the worst in the World for Americans.

China, Russia and India all require visas and we used visa companies to acquire our visas.

Australia requires a visa, but US citizens can acquire one online. NZ will issue one on arrival.

We got visas for Brazil on our own in Chicago and it was hassle free. No problems and easy to obtain if you followed the online instructions.

  11. Thanks for the advice. We are going to be in the following countries in April.

    Malaysia

    Thailand

    Singapore

    Vietnam

    Hong Kong

    South Korea

    China.

I've ordered currency for all except Vietnam as it is not available. I just ordered a small amount for most except Hong Kong and China as we are spending multiple days in both those stops. Even with that I am just getting about $100 for those two.

We went to Vietnam last March. I was able to get Dong from Chase in 2 days. In reality, I think we would have been fine with credit cards and USD, but it was comforting to have local currency.

  12. I booked with a TA and have had no issues booking excursions or accessing the website

I also have had no trouble with the new website on my iPad. I do log out when logging into my reservations. The only time I got the 20 minute message was when I forgot to log out.

  13. We are on the Infinity Alaska cruise of June 3, 2018. In the past, from time to time, I went back on Celebrity’s site to assess if the price changed. However, strangely enough, although I have a confirmed booking and booked excursion, this cruise does not show up on X website anymore. (This is unusual, since my previous cruise on X always showed up and my other upcoming cruise is also still showing up).

Concerned that the cruise could be either cancelled or chartered, I called X. The X representative reassured me, told me that to his knowledge, the cruise was still available and cabins available for sale on that cruise. The X tried to check the X website and found out also that the cruise was not posted. The X rep mentioned that it was odd, planning to mention it to their IM department and thanked me.

One month later, the June 3 2018, Infiniti Alaska cruise from Vancouver is still not showing up on the website. Should I be concerned?

Did you hit change date? I did that and the June 3 cruise was there.

  14. We are on the Flower Power Cruise in February on the Summit and wondered if anyone knew whether we could get the usual onboard booking perks if we book while the ship is chartered.

We went on this cruise in 2016 and remember the Future Cruise office being taken over by Star Vista for booking the next year's Flower Power Cruise, as well as their other music cruises. There were Celebrity cruise brochures outside the office, but since we weren't in the market for another cruise at the time, I don't know if there were Celebrity staff to book cruises. My guess is that they would be able to book a cruise, but I'm unsure about the usual onboard booking perks.

I am trying to decide whether to book something now and get a better choice of cabins or take a chance I'll get an extra perk and extra OBC, with a smaller deposit if I book onboard. Has anyone booked a non-Star Vista cruise while on one of their charters and received the onboard booking perks? Thanks for your help!

It wasn’t a Star Vista charter, but I have been on a charter cruise and booked a non-charter cruise while onboard with the Future Cruise Consultant. We did receive the current onboard booking offer (perks, reduced deposit and OBC) for the future cruise.

  15. We booked flights today by clicking on the link in the email I received. The fare for nonstop Chicago-Miami RT was exactly the same as the airline’s website. I picked the flights we wanted and the airline. All was done online without a hitch. Received an email from Flights by Celebrity, then another confirmation from Celebrity for our cruise with the flight and payment included. We each checked our accounts with the airline and the flights were there and ticketed within minutes. I can’t think of a downside and the extra Captain’s Club points, while small, is better than nothing.
