  1. Thanks for that information. My travel agent is on vacation, and my final payment is due soon on December 26. I spoke to someone at the travel agency who is covering her clients while she is away. However, I think this agent must have been new.  She told me she has never booked a Crystal Cruise before.

I am on a 2 week cruise on the Symphony, April 25 to May 9. I was in  a midship Aquamarine Suite #1036. Now I have been upgraded to a forward Sapphire Veranda # 8011. While I am excited for the upgrade, I would much prefer to be midship.

I don’t understand why the upgrade difference for a Sapphire Veranda mid ship  was more than 4 times the price of a forward suite. ($1000 vs $4400). I was in an Aquamarine midship suite!

If my TA was available, I would get her advice.

I am struggling to understand this. What am I missing here?

  2. May B

Were you able to get a Sapphire Veranda Suite midship?  We had the same cost to upgrade on our 2 week cruise, but it had to be a Sapphire Veranda forward suite.  Otherwise, it wax $2200 p/p to upgrade to a midship Sapphire Veranda from our midship Aquamarine Classic.

It seems like there have been many different deals being made for this promotion.

  3. We are interested in a cruise from Athens to Rome on the Symphony in April,

if I am understanding correctly, all the Aquamarine Classic suites are on deck 10. I really want the Classic because of the bathtub, but if they are on deck 10, I am concerned about  the noise level from deck 11 above which includes pools, restaurants, the teen room etc.  We always try to select a suite below other suites to minimize the noise.

Has anyone stayed on deck 10 on the Symphony and is the noise it a problem?

Thanks in advance for any help?

  4. I would have thought since the ship was undergoing a big transformation, it would make sense to refresh the older suites like the Aquamarine Classic…..not just new linens but  new carpet and upholstery.  I guess it all comes down to money.  I wonder when the Classic Aquamarine was last refreshed.

  5. Does anyone know yet what refurbishment will be done on the Aquamarine Suite Classic cabin.  I so want a bath tub and this is the only category with a tub and separate shower.  Otherwise, I would book a newly done Sapphire Suite. I hope at least Aquamarine Classic would have new upholstery and carpet.

  6. Thanks Keith.

It looks like there is a pool and restaurants on deck 11 above the classic Aquamarine suites on 10.

We are super sensitive to noise after our Crystal River cruise when we were under the galley, and it sounded like a bowling alley was above us. 🙂

If we want a tub and also be under other cabins,  it looks like we have to upgrade to a Sapphire Suite.

On the Serenity there are cabins above deck 10 but not on the Symphony if I am looking at the deck plan correctly.

Where are the Sapphire Suites located on the Symphony?

    Much appreciated.

  7. I am looking at an April 2024 Symphony cruise Athens to Rome.  Where are the Aquamarine suites classic style with a tub located on the new Crystal Symphony.

Also, how thoroughly redecorated will these Classic suites be?  I just got off the phone with a Crystal rep and he knew nothing about the redecoration beyond new towels and bedding.  I’m amazed he could not give me more details re carpet, draperies, furniture upholstery etc.

I figured you all would know more than he did.

    Thanks!

  8. I found a 21 day cruise in the Med for April/May 2024 on the Encore. There appears to be only one cabin available in a poor location for this 21 day cruise.  However, if I look at the 2 segments that make up this cruise, there are suites available, and i found one V3 suite that is available on both segments.

Is there any disadvantage to booking the two back to back segments re price and benefits. I assume this is an inventory issue for Seabourn holding back cabins for the shorter segments.

    Thanks so much!

  9. We just put a deposit on a Splendor cruise departing 8/31/23.

I would like to book excursions and dinner reservations for us.  Our accounts are not linked and so it seems I would have to book each of us individually.  This does not make sense.  How can I link our accounts to book as a couple?

Also, what is the best customer service number to reach Regent?

    Thanks.

  10. Thank you all for your advice.

We booked 653 as it is further from the elevators. We decided that the one anchor day on this itinerary would not be that big a deal.  We are early risers anyway!

We were able to take advantage of the promotion.  We upgraded 2 categories from Concierge and saved a lot of money and gained a lot more space.  Iceland has been on our bucket list for anwhile, and we are excited to visit.

  11. We are looking at the Splendor August 31 cruise Reykjavik to Copenhagen.  There are only  2 penthouse cabins available….. 653 and 657.

It appears that they are both over the ship tenders and 657 is also near the elevators.  I am concerned about this location.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks.

  12. We are also looking into using this company to do a 2 day tour from Safaga which will include one day at Giza and the second day in Luxor. We will be in Safaga on the Seabourn Encore in April.

We would love to see the pyramids in Giza but are concerned about flight delays or cancelations and not making it back to the ship. I am pretty sure this would be our last chance to see the pyramids in Giza.

Has anyone done this 2 day tour?

Can anyone give a review of Egypt Tours Portal?

    Thank you!
