  1. We will be going to Cozumel on Carnival Glory in a couple weeks. My wife and I are wanting a relaxing beach/resort, with swimming pool, restrooms, food, etc. to relax on the last stop of the cruise. Doesn't need to be a party atmosphere and don't need activities. Okay if there's a fee.

Hopefully this is enough information to get some suggestions from the group.  Thanks in advance!

  2. I'm getting clarification and will feel better to get this confirmed.  I'm cruising out of New Orleans, which is Central Time.  When we arrive in Cozumel, it's Eastern time zone.

If the itinerary states we arrive in port at 7am, is that 7am ship time or Port time?

The primary reason for my questions, is I'm looking to schedule a non-ship excursion and I need to be at their location, 8:30am local time.  Trying to figure out what time the ship arrives local time and how long it would take me to get off the ship?

Hope I've made this question clear enough.  lol

  3. Looks terrific!! We always decorate our cabin door. How did you attach your signs?? I have read that Carnival has trying to make it hard for us to attach our signs to the doors!! I have used tape, but always clean the door of any residue. Did the room steward have any comments?? We are leaving on the Conquest soon and one to put are signs up with no hassle!! Thanks for any response. :)

We used a combination of tape and double stick foam stickers. It was an 8 day cruise and no one messed with any of our doors and the cabin stewards liked them. So no issues.

  4. Thanks for the suggestions and reasoning. She rarely spends money on herself and wouldn't ever book a massage or pedicures. She enjoys both, but feels the money could be spent paying bills or something, but I feel vacation is about us and we have to relax and enjoy. We are going in July and just had a thought that I might get her a pedicure the day or two before we leave, so then she can show off the toes on the cruise. Then a massage early in the cruise and see if they offer specials towards the end.

Thanks again for the ideas and suggestions.

  5. We love to decorate our doors. On our last cruise (New Year's Cruise) we had 4 cabins. Probably the best part was using the parrots partially sticking out, then from down the hall, the doors were easy to identify. We had people in rooms around us thank us and mentioned how easy it was to find their room by using our parrots. If you look close on some of the pics, I added our kids faces into the designs.

  6. Hello ladies,

Not being sexist I guess the guys can answer too. :D

I was wanting to surprise my wife with a massage and pedicure on our next cruise, which is our 25th wedding anniversary. So, since it's a surprise, I didn't want to ask her. But which day is best to pre-purchase/schedule the 2 treatments? We leave on a Saturday and I was thinking that our first full day at sea would be best. My thought was she would start the vacation relaxed, stress free. It's an 8 day cruise with 3 port days.

What do you ladies think? Do you prefer 1st day treatments or midway through, maybe the last day?

  7. I can't say enough good about Auston and Pro Divers on St. Kitts. 2 years ago, I stayed on St. Kitts and Nevis and dove with Auston for 2 days. Everyone we interacted with was awesome, from the driver that picked us up "Elvis" to his wife Margot taking care of us in the shop. He has been diving on St. Kitts for a lot of years and aims to please the guests, diving shipwrecks or whatever you want to see. On the same trip, I lost 2 days of diving because of another dive shop making promises and then cancelling and saying I misunderstood. As a fellow diver, you probably double and triple check everything when traveling that far and I'm confident in saying I didn't misunderstand that this other dive shop "might" go out, but learned later from a local hotel that if he doesn't have enough he'll keep putting them off to get more people to go when he knows you are staying local. Anyway, I'm confident you won't go wrong with Pro Divers at St. Kitts I wanted this next cruise to go to St. Kitts just to dive with them again, but the calendar and itinerary just didn't work out. Good Luck!!! I'm hoping to dive Grand Turk or Curacao next.

  8. I was reading on Godfrey's Tours the following comments.

Sapphire Beach is open, but the restaurant and bar on the beach have been closed for a long time. Restrooms are not maintained, dirty and in bad condition. Godfrey Tours will not take any guest to Sapphire Beach until this problem is solved.

Based on what I'm reading in the post, I can't imagine it's as bad as Godfrey's Tours make it sound. Is the restaurant and bar open? What about the restrooms? Anyone use them lately?

    Thanks,

  9. Hello.....

We will be staying in the Woodfin Suites the night before our cruise on the 5th of August. We also will be staying there at the end of our cruise for one night also.

I originally heard great things about Woodfin Suites, but I don't hear much lately or see many posts. One reason we chose them, is that we can get a 2 room suite, with a pull out couch so a family of 6 can stay for less than $130. Plus they offer free shuttle from the airport and to the port on both ends of the trip. :D

For the night before, we only need a restaurant, since we aren't looking for much to do and I understand there are several in the area. But on our return, we are under the impression that there is several things to do in the area since we will almost the entire Sunday to take it easy, do some sightseeing, etc.

Have I picked the right hotel? Does my thought process work? Should I consider another hotel for the end of my cruise for activities? We are very easy people to please and not needing a 5 star hotel.

Thanks in advance for any help. Have a great day! :)

  10. Well, mine doesn't compare to some of the ideas listed, but might be a easy way for some DH or DW to tell their spouse.

We took a cruise 4 years ago for our 10th wedding anniversary. I wanted to surprise my wife, but knew she would want to know ahead of time for packing and planning.

I took several of the cruise brochures, ports of call brochures and headed to the local Kinko's. I made 5-6 color copies, including the Victory, the ports of calls, Carnival logo, etc. Then I cut those into shapes, so they weren't just squares. I laminated those and put holes in the tops of each. I then bought a bunch of balloons with a flower for the base (could use anything) and on the ribbon hanging from the balloons, I hung the different pictures.

I delivered them to her office. She figured it out and was very excited. The people in her office thought it was very creative and romantic.

To say the least, we had an awesome trip and our going on another cruise on the Miracle next year for our 15th anniversary. My parents are going for their 50th anniversary and my BIL and sister and son are going. It's their 25th wedding anniversary next year.

The balloons and color copies aren't an expensive way to surprise someone.

Good Luck on whatever anyone decides to do!!!!!
