  1. Agree. If you had a great trip last time there's no reason to suppose you won't enjoy your next. There are so many factors which help make or break a cruise, many of which are beyond our control but a "glass half full" attitude certainly helps. As you so rightly say, aren't we incredibly lucky to be able to see the world from a beautiful Seabourn ship in the first place.

I am very much a "glass half full" type of person, and agree there factors beyond our control, however there are many moaning posts on here ( maybe that's just what they are) about the fact that Odyssey's service has slipped a little. That was just my question. I do not need water delivered at 2am at a particular temperature, or any other such demanding nonsense.

  2. Hello everyone, we are off on the Odyssey in January, we last sailed on Sojourn, and prior to that Odyssey.Seabourn advertises "ultra luxury" that of course is subjective, and all down to what is one's persons view and expectations are, and what they are not.

So is the Odyssey up to "scratch"? In my opinion last time we sailed it was simply fabulous, we are not difficult or demanding passengers, and realise how very fortunate we are in the first place being able to cruise with Seabourn. The general view seems to be, not what it was as couple of years ago, due to the new ships, bla bla bla perhaps I should adjust my expectations and lower my excitement levels, to avoid being disapointed. what do you think?

  3. Good morning everyone

I booked our cruise with a good TA almost a year in advance, got my Silver Club discount, got my discount from having left a pre cruise deposit, got a discount from TA. I was happy. Then I see an advertised price meaning a £1,100 discount per person (on Seabourn'swebsite) I spoke to the TA and I was not able to have this price, as it was on a guarantee basis, and I was told this was not available to me, however I was offered a substantial discount. I was happy. We are due to embark in 10 days time, I have now seen , again on SeAbourn's website a further discount, of 1,000 per person. I asked if this could be applied, or if I could have an upgrade, and was told by TA, no, this was only a guarantee price. When I was previously told the GT was not available. The difference is substantial, I feel as if I have been "done"!

  4. Good morning everyone :)

We had a simply amazing time last time 18 months ago on the Odyssey, the service/food/staff were simply incredible. I realise they are virtually the same ship. We are on Sojourn in 2 weeks time out of Dubai, reading between the lines, have things changed so much? Isthe service not as excellent? I gather a stupid (to me) new system in the Colonade restaurant every other night. We loved their "places around the world" menus. We are so so so looking forward to it, but are my expectations too high?

    What do you think?
